I'm going to say this now

Pre-season friendlies start soon.

The results do not matter.

I have seen us getting promoted after terrible pre-season results and also have a bad season after good pre-season results.

I'll be interested to see how our style of play develops across these friendlies, but the scoreline is largely irrelevant.

Hopefully we get one or two games at home to have a nose at the team :bluescarf:

Agree with that - friendlies are glorified training sessions. The results mean jack sh1t in the context of the real season.

Bbm will get 15 games for me to access him after that I will give my verdict on him as coach/manager

Agree, the style will be interesting.

Hopefully see gradual improvement as the players get used to it.

More about who is here than results for me - need to get this squad sorted before the season starts .

Yep, too many times we criticise teams for losing pre-season when it’s actually about nothing other than conditioning and structure(s) and playing against certain systems.

It’s even been known for managers to play with 10 men in to prepare for games if we get someone sent off,

As long as there is a plan/plans that’s ok with me. Just be ready and organised for that first league game.

100% it's just practice, and learning to play how BBM wants.

It's nice if it builds and gives the players confidence though, I would trhow three easy ones in last for confidence.

We need to start well we had a shocker last season and we were finished after six games.

It is about getting fitness, getting the change in the playing style, and for BBM to figure out who fits in where.

Plenty of good responses on this thread so far - so hopefully that opinion is still reflected if we lose against the likes of Yeovil or Cambridge.

Cue 50% of the forum booting off when we lose in a 1-0 stinker to Yeovil Town.
