Fair play to the guy I say, providing for his family whilst helping people less fortunate than himself

He’s on gardening leave so is getting full pay.

He’s decided to do something useful and caring instead of hanging around.

I see nothing wrong with that.

Agree with this.

The guy is helping people instead of sitting on his arse - fair play to him.

Fair play to him. Seems like a very decent bloke. Despite calling us "scum" once.

Before he began management, he loaded lorries for British Home Stores on an industrial estate and drove minibuses from airports and nightclubs, even transporting construction workers to the Olympic Park in Stratford.

Asked last year about the importance of work ethic, he told The Guardian: in my opinion motivation in life is everything.
From the Mail
'The realisation in my late-teens that life is going to be a monumental struggle for me, that life was about to become very tough and the world would become very hostile for somebody with no qualifications, no contacts, working class … that desire to feed myself and look after myself kicked in.

'I realised that I was capable of tolerating almost anything, providing that I would be able to have a roof over my head and something to eat.

Full credit for his choice too, mate. I think the OP has misread the room again!

Saw this earlier in the socials and he's doing this purely to assist others, as he's financially secure. What a great gesture.

And yes, I do say that through gritted teeth after what he said about us.

There are many things I may wish to tease or banter him about. This isn't one of them. Full credit to him.
