Direction of the club

Wed Jun 18, 2025 2:09 am

After relegation to League One, Cardiff City faces a critical crossroads. While the new development ground shows long-term ambition, lingering uncertainties remain, Tan has been criticised for his hands-on and often unpredictable management style
At the same time, the club still has no sporting director—a role fans believe is essential for long-term strategy, recruitment coherence, and playing philosophy
With speculation over a possible sale, an unproven manager tailored for League One, required wage cuts, and the threat of losing key players, what genuine reasons should Cardiff supporters hold onto as we look ahead to the 2025/26 season?

On paper we have probably have the best squad in the Division and the best crop of youngsters in a generation

Unfortunately, the game is not played on paper, but it does appear we have a Manager with a clear vision and plan :ayatollah:

That’s exactly where Cardiff’s issue lies — we’ll go into this League One campaign thinking it’s going to be a walk in the park, but the reality is we could be staring down the barrel of another relegation battle. We’re still trying to find our playing style, our identity on the pitch, and it’s happening alongside a lot of uncertainty off it.

What is the actual vision of the board and Vincent Tan for Cardiff City? Because as fans, we genuinely don’t know anymore. :bluebird: Have we lost our identity completely?

On paper, we probably have the best squad in the division and one of the most promising groups of youngsters we’ve seen in a generation. But as we all know, the game isn’t played on paper. That said, there’s at least some encouragement in the fact that our new manager seems to have a clear vision and plan. Let’s just hope the club gives him the backing and time needed — because it feels like we’re at a real crossroads.
