BBM: We're here to win the league

Mon Jun 16, 2025 10:03 pm

Brian Barry-Murphy:

"My experience of the division is deep and makes me aware it won't be straightforward.

The vision to win the league and take the club back to where it belongs and beyond is clear on the outside.

On the inside, my way of working is specific and particular. For the players we have a way of working and I'm sure the players will enjoy that and it'll be real good for them too."

Fair play, he spoke well without many of the typical cliches that managers tend to use.
The next part is to get the team playing well and winning. :bluescarf:

Why is that cuckoo land?

We are going to have the majority of our players from last season, with some good youngsters and of course whoever we bring in this window.

As much as we aren’t a massive club, and as much as we aren’t going to splash like Birmingham did last year, we are still probably the favourites to go up this year.

Sadly I think some people are determined to write him off before he gets going.

I have a theory that some of our fans have become so obsessed with their hate of Tan that they will refuse to say any manager appointment we make is a good one. The other thing is because BBM wasn't their first choice, they're taking it personally.

BBM was not my first choice but now I'm excited.

Supporting the new manager (or head coach) does not mean supporting Tan.

People need to not allow there hatred for tan cloud there judgement

I want him gone as much as anyone but I can also see that this appointment is better than we've had for years

Tan selling up and promotion would be the dream season and would make up for the last few years of shit

I honestly believe we have a manager now who can deliver that promotion

I agree, Ned.

We are still seeing posts about his time at Rochdale, with this being the key factor in people’s view on him.

They use that he is unknown by Leicester fans.

But they completely disregard his time at Man City, or the players he brought through.

I feel that as a fan base, we have a lot of fans who are just looking for a reason to moan.

The dislike for Tan (which is warranted) has caused people to moan about literally anything.

Which of our last 5 managers were managing us in League 1 at the start of the season?

We should have realistic ambitions to win League 1 which we would not have had in the Championship.

Great first interview. Still unsure it's going to work out but he has my full support.

This new manager certainly speaks well.
His experiences of working with Pep promoting high energy football seems very positive and fresh for our fans to hear.
He appears to work closely with players on the training ground to bring out the best of their ability, especially the younger players.
At this stage, for once I have some optimism for the next couple of seasons.
I just hope he can attract three or four good signings to strengthen the squad and enable us to challenge for promotion back to the Championship in the next year or two.
Good luck to him.

Great post and I did mention it to you on another thread that the moaners will be out in force and so it has been proved!
I’m sure we both know who there are and they’ll never change no matter what.

Supporting the team, manager and club has nothing to do with Tans shit show and your theory is 100% right in my opinion.

I really hope Murphy Wins the league and gets us promoted.
I am excited by his appointment not one bit.

Happy he has managed youngsters.

But as a Manager Failed Drastically.

Was an unknown coach at relegated Leicester.

Was their anyone out there wanting him NO.

Also Tan fails badly at everything.

But I will be fully backing Murphy was his first 12 games.

We all should for the sake of our Club Cardiff City.

No Annis, can't go along with that at all.

The only reason some aren't happy is because Tan is the owner. If we had a new owner three months ago and they appointed BBM, the reaction would be totally different from these people.

Not unknown at Leicester, there's a long thread on their forum about him.

Didn't fail at Rochdale. Miraculously kept them up before they went down by one point.

Plymouth wanted him but he left the talks with them to come to us.

Extremely highly rated at Man City and it was his decision to leave, not their's.

Our fans live in the dark ages, this manager brings us into the 21st century.

Excited and optimistic.

A bit of both but mostly Riza, they should have been more self motivated IMO, but lets hope BB-M can get through to them.

Last three League One winning managers were in their first job.

Experience doesn't mean jack shit in this league.
