CCFC 2025-2026 Performance :
Absolutely we should expect and demand promotion !! Automatic promotion should be very much on the cards . Promotion through the playoffs will be the fallback.
Making the playoffs without promotion will be a bad season . Not making the playoffs will be a disaster and unacceptable failure.
I want to make it clear that I am not saying that it is going to be that easy or a walk in the park ..many big clubs before us have failed and took several years to be promoted ….so I am not under any false illusions and I am not cocky or dismissive of this division.
But remember if we are not up their, Our Fanbase will kept irate very quickly and the CCS Stadium will only get worse playing in to the hands of the opposition.
However , we have so many advantages over most of our completion that we have a massive head start . Continued …

In the Championship we had 23 serious competitors ….in fact at least 4 or 5 were far better equipped than us on all fronts .
In the 3rd tier of the 1st division , few of the teams were non-league not do long ago . Others are really small comparatively - with much lower support , lesser stadia and facilities and with no real money or players budget .
In short our real competition is just over a handful ….with no more than 10 who will be able to challenge us . Arguably , we are the biggest club in this division ….and if anyone thinks not …we are still up there with whoever. I genuinely believe that whoever the manager is ….whichever players we sell or release ….and whoever we sign ….we should still expect to compete at the top .
At worst , we are not going to cock up every transaction of players in and out. At worst will still have a manager who has something about him to perform .
We should have enough to do what it takes .
We are the Man U , the Liverpool , the Man City , the Arsenal of this division ….this is a fact . Surely surely - we can not possibly cock up all our decisions . Continued…..

Players wise ….no matter who we sell or release ..we will still have quite a few experienced players more than good enough for this division .
On top of that we already have a number of really good young experienced players . On top of that we have few young players who have not been really tested ….but who are very highly rated .
So players wise ….we have a massive head start ! Remember all this is before us signing any new players …..and we will be signing few good ones surely .
Manager wise ….it is Murphy ….but whoever it is ….that person should have something about them to gel together our players to perform . Even with mistakes we should still be ahead (surely?) .
Whoever is manager …..he will be very very lucky …..because our performance with the players we have , our support , our stadium and our performance -surely - will be good enough because of the level of our completion .
Our manager can make a name for himself ….above however good he is .
Finally , the only one who could cock up and scupper our chances and promotion is Vincent Tan .

As fans we are going to really enjoy this season because in all probability we are going to do well and win far more than we lose .
However , we should not gloat , because it is shameful that we should be in this division in the first place .
Picking on much smaller opposition …while is going to be fun …..but where is the pride in that ?
Sun Jun 15, 2025 7:08 am
Agree we should definitely be going all out for promotion.
Sun Jun 15, 2025 7:22 am
Got to be promotion one way or another this season, your exactly right Annis

Gents,
How on earth can a club like CCFC be in this division ?
Honestly and with no bias or malice …..it is true that Tan and his cronies are simply poor poor poor …..and are not fit to be running this Club .
Restricting our pleasure to beating Burton , Crawley , Doncaster , Exeter , Stevenage etc….is shameful for the Bluebirds . How low have we gone …..?
Tan has had 15-16 years . Fxxk that .
Fxxk this situation . Picking on minnows is what we are left with ?
What a shame ….I am really angry ….and will neither forget or forgive.

I said when we were relegated that a maximum of two seasons in this division would be fine. If it goes on any longer than that then it will be a challenge to get back to the Championship - look at the likes of Bolton.
Having said that, I also expect us to be competing for the top six. We will keep the core of our squad and a few signings will boost the quality.
I'm excited by the managerial appointment and looking forward to August.

Agree we should be up there.
It won’t be easy as you say but we should be hovering around the top.
I don’t think we will do what Birmingham did in terms of points haul, purely because of how much they spent, but top two should be the goal.

I agree, the existing squad of players are good enough to get promoted. Look at Wrexham, we have more quality players than them. Birmingham spent big and ran away with the division. We have to really get behind the team, especially at home and make The Cardiff City Stadium a fortress. We will suffer the odd shock defeat but don't get on the team's back but back them to the hilt in every game.

Top 6 minimum. 7th is a bad season for this club in this division.
I agree with Monty's post, we will be everyone's cup final. We've not been down here for 20odd years.
We are a big fish this season.
Sun Jun 15, 2025 9:05 am
I agree.
If we don't do it this season, then any of the decent lads will have to move on for their careers.
We should have too much for this league. We were relegated due to the pathetically amateurish team management. Get anyone decent in and we should be top 2
Quite a few of our fans like to hide behind the "plucky little Cardiff" tag, maybe in the Premier League, never in the Championship, and the direct opposite in L1.
Dimi was correct. We need to start demanding more from the club, but those on the pitch as well. They got away scot free last season.
The fans need to get their mojo back! I am not expecting instant success, but by Christmas, we need to be top 6 and throttle through the second half of the season.

I am looking forward to visiting and revisiting new opponents, I’m on the fence with the new manager but will shout his name from the terraces and get behind him for at least the first 15 games hopefully a lot longer, but I’m still in shock, still angry, defeated, bottom of the league, still bewildered with how Tan still has supporters, and what the Trust and FAB say in their mission statements what they will do for us, and still don’t communicate with us.
I clearly need a week away! Get over it, go again with the pre season friendlies, some protests, a few beers and some new chants and get the fun going again. It sure hasn’t been.

We should as fans expect similar things but let's not forget the clowns who took us down. AApart from the 2 promotions they have not got a great record when it comes to signings. So I expect a long gruelling season for us. Unless we spend alot we won't be escaping this league.
Sun Jun 15, 2025 4:12 pm
How about a dose of pessimism ,yea we should be at or near the top of the table but what if we re not,we should be in or near play offs. but what if we're not,we should be bowling the little league one club's over like skittle pins ,but what if we don't, ah yes what if .
Only kidding we ll smash this league .......won't we
Sun Jun 15, 2025 5:47 pm
Not is going to be down to who has left and who we get in o' dowda has gone but if this guy is OK with the youngsters we shall see what he can do with them,
Ashford if he stays, colwill bros ,tanner, bagan and some from the academy .
But this manager did have a crop of probably the best youngsters to play with at man city
And I am looking forward to the new season but we have to really go for it from the off,
like when warnock was here we stayed in the top 5 nearly all season with wolves and fulham.
