Andy Rinomhota

From the Zimbabwean media:

WARRIORS midfielder Andy Rinomhota is on the brink of sealing a new deal with Cardiff City, as the club looks to rebuild after dropping into England’s League One.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a remarkable 2024/25 season, shaking off a slow start to become one of Cardiff’s most consistent performers.

After returning from a loan spell, Rinomhota was an unused substitute in the first six matches but soon clawed his way into the starting XI with gritty displays and impressive versatility.

Naturally a central midfielder, Rinomhota even filled in at right back when needed, his determination and work rate earning him the respect of both fans and teammates.

“He was immense,” said one club insider.

“Never complained, just got on with it and delivered week in, week out.”

His efforts were recognised in the dressing room, where teammates voted him their standout player of the season.

He will be asset for us in league 1 for sure. However he must not start right back ahead of the development of Kpakio

You can just tell he will be suited to Div1 and of course the other player who is definitely proven in Div1 is Ryan Wintle

Either would be decent box to box midfielders next season (if they are still here next season)

Good midfield option or depth, depth for RB.

Hopefully Kpakio is ready to slot in at RB, or breaks into the squad down the line. Excited to see what he can do now we are in an easier league for young players.

Both Kpakio and Luey Giles are more wing backs than out and out full backs but yes Kpakio will hopefully play a big part next season

I’m pleased with this. Not saying we’re promotion material yet, but I actually think we have the makings of a solid squad for League 1 and Andy (Rinomhota) is the type we’ll need :ayatollah:

I like Rhinomhota a lot.

Every team needs a guy like this. Had a great season last year and should be as good if not better this season.

Hope he stays.
