A manager who knows how to work with young players

Thu Jun 12, 2025 5:10 pm

For years we have had people on here complaining that the manager won't give young players a chance.

BBM has a track record of developing young players and some of them have gone on to be world class.

He also worked with Alex Robertson and had a good relationship with him.

Every player who works with him has only positive things to say about BBM.

His ability to work with young players could bring success with us.

If they stay at the club then I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Lawlor, Kpakio and others not only get game time but actually become even better.

Obviously we will need to mix that with experience but this is something I'm quite excited about.

Exactly how I feel.
He really wasn’t my choice, I was actually annoyed when the news broke he was about to be appointed.

However, after adjusting to it, I think he might actually be the right one.

Man City and Leicester City could be 2 clubs he looks at - if he is our manager .

I am going to be honest BBM was not my first choice, and to be fair he probably wasnt my 2nd choice either, but what I have read about him, and from his videos on youtube, I am excited by what he might bring next season.

This is the team he looked after in the ManCity U21s

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-city-u23/startseite/verein/9265

And it was this side that won the Under 21 Premier League title; winning 15 of their 21 games averaging 3 goals per game.

I would like to think that there maybe a few from this side, who clearly wont get into the Man City first team, who perhaps deserve a chance lower down the league.

For our present crop of younger players, If Man City believe he is right for their U21s, I am sure the younger members of our first team will benefit.

I am excited.

Manager wise i don't really care as long as they bring success and get us back up to the Championship as soon as. What worries me though in todays modern game, a Manager yes first and foremost has to be a good coach but just as important he has to be able to manage ego's. Far to many players these days have the upper hand we certainly have more than our fair share. When i see a young coach coming in like BBM it worries me especially not been a Manager before apart from his couple of games at Rochdale. Being able to manage overpaid overrated players with chips on there shoulder massive ego's dressing room click's its an all new challenge and a massive part of being a Manager.
IS BBM not only a good coach but can he manage.

Couple of games at Rochdale?

I didn't know 109 was "a couple".

Pretty sure that the likes of Perry NG and Rinomhota don’t have as big an ego as some of the Man City youngsters.
