Cardiff City FC can confirm the retained list for the 2024/25 season.
FIRST TEAM
Aaron Ramsey will leave the Bluebirds this summer. The Welsh captain rejoined his childhood Club during the summer of 2023, before taking up the role of caretaker manager for the final three games of the 2024/25 campaign. Aaron departs Cardiff City Stadium with our best wishes.
Club captain Joe Ralls and Andy Rinomhota remain in discussions with the Club at this time.
Jamilu Collins, Raheem Conte, Anwar El Ghazi, Kieron Evans, Dimitrios Goutas and Yakou Méïté will depart at the conclusion of their agreements on June 30th, 2025.
U21
The Club have activated extended contract options on Josh Beecher, Jake Dennis, Trey George, Ewan Griffiths, Luke Pearce, Michael Reindorf, Will Spiers and Morgan Wigley. A contract offer has also been made to Isaac Jefferies.
Young professionals Freddie Cook, Cole Fleming, Adeteye Gbadehan, Baylin Johnson and Joseph Thomas will depart.
Professional contract offers have been made to graduating apprentices Jake Davies, Alyas Debono, Daniel Ola and Jac Thomas.
Joseff Edwards, Corey Foggarty, Osian Rees and Lennon Talbot will now leave the Club following the completion of their apprenticeships.
We’d like to thank all of the leaving players for their efforts and wish them all the very best for the future.

Think I’m pretty happy with that so far.
Just now comes down to the transfer window and who will have to be sold and who we buy.

Hope we keep Joe Ralls and Andy Rinomhot, now let’s get the manager confirmed and fingers crossed a director of football confirmed and look forward to a new season.

I'm guessing Ralls and Rhinamota have been offered much less than their current deal which I think is sensible. As good as JR is, he does spend time on the treatment bench.

Who decided all this yet again?

Can't argue with any of the decisions here, think they've got it right.
I hope Rinomhota decides to stay. I guess discussions with BBM might decide that.

Ralls took a 50% Cut last time , your right offered a lot less this time.
But he’s slow now and injury proned.

I agree he’s a great squad player.
Hope Ralls stays as well.
Not disappointed about El Ghastly

Can’t argue with who’s going but Rhino deserves a decent contract after playing well last year definitely the type needed in lg 1

Not disappointed with the players who are leaving.
It was time for Ramsey to leave and unless Ralls takes a significant cut to account for his time on the injury table then I feel it would be best to part ways.
Would like to see Rino stay, impressed last season and deserves it in my opinion.

yeah i know that

but hes utter shite , cant even give him away !

I hope Rinomhota stays and we play him centre midfield. I think his box to box engine will be crucial at League 1 level.

Etete, is absolute garbage! I know hes under contract but be easier to pay his contract off than to let him pick up a wage for sitting on his arse,
He failed at Bolton! - so dont give the shit that he will thrive in L1
Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:06 am
Ned,
Without a Manager or Assistant Manager, who decided who should Stay and who should leave?
Their is NO one from First Team level to decide?

They just gave him a New 2 yr contract

I think Rhino has earned a contract done well last season RALLS could still do a job for us next season

Doesn't take Einstein to work out tan and the stooges worked the retained list. I bet there will be 1 or 2 "club signings" for BBM.
Sooner we get back on the protests the better. Like I said before they dont make a blind bit of difference but it makes me feel better,
Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:31 am
To be fair we new them players would leave the club
Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:32 am
I have a different view on Rino.
He had a good season relative to the other shite. He's not a good footballer for me, as in stand out skillset. He gives top class effort.
I think we need better. Squad player, yes. Starting in midfield... not for me.
Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:34 am
El Ghazi, Willock and Meite - if anyone is still in the club who agreed with the signing of these.... get them away from all future recruitment.
Not a good season between all 3!!

Pretty much agree with that!

Good to see that Alyas Debona and Daniel Ola have been awarded Professional contracts, but I thought that Conte and Cooke would be retained. Conte, in my opinion, suffered from his loan to Woking, and Cooke looked like a good prospect; otherwise, it is as expected

Rambo is a waste of money and Ralls is not only crap he is constantly injured.

I like the list, but I agree. Could have been worse but we need professionalism in this club.

The way of doing this list was totally wrong, I agree.
But the end result is probably about right.

Annis I think that Murphy would have a say in that , because as soon as he is all but confirmed as our new manager the retained list is issued, coincidence, I do not think so!

100% mate

had a fantastic season and he’s certainly got the right attributes for this league. Great engine, play RB or midfield. And has shown his resilience and attitude.
