The saga is nearly over

Wed Jun 11, 2025 4:25 pm

Going by reports, it looks like our search for a manager is nearly over.

Today the flow seems to be with Brian Barry-Murphy, other times it's with Des Buckingham.

I have long said that I hoped the fanbase would get behind the new manager and support them. That now looks unlikely and I'm sad to see that.

The vultures are already circling. Mainly on social media instead of here to be fair.

Calling every name linked "rubbish" or a "yes man".

I think whoever came in would have the same labels put on them.

Neither of BBM or Buckingham are yes men. Both come with good reputations.

We are not the only club speaking to them. It's known that Plymouth have too.

I want Tan to go but this constant put down of any manager linked does not help anybody.

It is extremely unlikely that Tan will sell the club in the next year.

So we need this new manager to succeed and I for one will continue with the same approach:

Support the club. Support the team. Support the manager. Not the regime.

Very well said indeed, Ned

It seems that a sticking decision has finally been made and I agree with you totally that the vast majority will get behind the new man! :ayatollah:

new management team to be named, that indicates BBM bringing in his own team, wonder if the delay has been caused by trying to find a coaching roll for Ramsey. pure speculation on my part but I would be over joyed if rambo stayed in some capacity.

I hope so Chris.

We need this new manager to be a success. So I hope the majority will support him.

As I have said many times before, we can support the team and manager while also being against the board.

Well said & I have said the same on a few occasions.

The other thing about any manager who comes in is that he has a boss to answer to & that is Tan, it doesn't matter who we get because unless you own or the run the company you work for telling your boss to "do one" rarely ends well. Such is life & no amount of calling anyone a "yes man" will change that aspect.

Totally agree, and well said.

As the old saying goes, you will never please all the people all the time.

I like the strap line also, Support the team, support the club, support the manger. Not the regime

After Jones, this group was the best we could hope for; other than that, you are looking at an EFL journeymen like Steve Evans or Slade types

Well let's hope it now ends, I will support who ever it is and let's hope he is up to the job and has a big bat to fend off Tan

I didn't like riza right from the start it turned out my feeling about him was correct if whoever the new manager is I will give them 15 games at least to judge them think that's only fair

That's fair.

If we are not in the top six after 12 games then people will have reason to criticise.

Just don't like people writing him off before a ball has been kicked.

I'm cautiously optimistic but we don't know until August when the season starts.

Be glad when all this is over and we can start to enjoy pre season silly rumours again
And look forward to seeing who's spotted at Howells
