Ramsey in to settle the ship

Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:26 pm

Given the ongoing mess it seems more likely that Ramsey is being asked to carry on as interim Manager as we prepare for the season. Money could be an issue give he finishes is current £50k per week contract and extending that possibly as player/manager. Probably being negotiated with Choo then quick confirmation of his team and then two months to build the squad. Seems so easy so what’s the problem?

The Jones situation has rocked the boat and I guess Tan is not convinced by the others. Taking more time by creating an interim arrangement gives them more breathing ‘or choking’ space rather than be nailed to to a contract like we have seen in recen5 years. If you were Tan and were not convinced about the recommendations particularly by putting three names to him creates doubt and uncertainty. Hence bide more time with an interim arrangement until he is happy to go with a particular person.
We don’t have all the details so it was my pennyworth.

Given all the names bounced around my choice would be Ramsey but not just as an interim appointment.

But if you’re not going to name a permanent manager before pre season when we’ve been without a manager for nearly 2 months, when are you ever going to feel the time is right. I’m so fed up of interims and stop-gaps, now is the time to get the right permanent person on board. If the board feel that are not capable of choosing someone and creating a vision for where we want to go as a club then they’re not up to it (which we know they aren’t, but that’s a separate discussion)
