It's not a failure, it's making sure we get it right and it suggests negotiations are being prelonged because of agents, new managers contract demands v the owners, potential compensation settlement,funding for new players assurances, folk on holiday after a long season.

Some really uninspiring names to be fair

Another name, either put forward by his agent or because someone has placed a bet on him.
There shouldn't really be anyone else in the frame other than those shortlisted, but who was on that is also speculation.

Maybe nobody fancies the job . With the history of incompetence from our board/owner I wouldn't think it would be at the top of most noteworthy available managers wish lists.

Most jobs he’s taken there hasn’t been much success. Direct attacking football and possession sounds all good but heard a few negatives:

Stubborn, tinker man, lack of plan B.

But hard to tell when fans can be very emotional.
