Statement from Trust - Regarding Manager

Wed Jun 04, 2025 10:35 am

Posted this morning.

“It is a matter of considerable concern that there has been no formal communication from the club to fans in respect of where we are in appointing a new manager.

Since the season ended at Norwich on 3 May fans have learned via Wales Online that Sports Agency Wasserman had been engaged to assist in the recruitment process along with Mark Allen, a former Swansea City Sporting Director. Of course, at the Fans Advisory Board (FAB) meeting on 12 May these issues were discussed. However, as the Club did not publish the minutes until 23 May (11 days after the meeting and not the promised 48 hours) it was a bit late to be told the bare minimum that the process had already started (prior to 12 May) and that the end of May was the target for appointment which has now come and gone.

Looking at the news on the club website since the club statement regarding relegation on 29 April there has been no mention of manager recruitment. What appears to be an information vacuum is being filled with rumour, betting odds from bookmakers and social media and press speculation but nothing official from the club. Fans are very concerned about the appointment of a new manager in our new situation in League 1. Given the club’s poor handling of the manager’s position in 2024/25, getting it right for next season, set against a background of the promised root and branch review, is a bigger priority than ever.

Fans don’t expect confidential information on specifics of who, when and where that might compromise the process but at least letting them know officially where we are in the procedure and updating of timescales would go a long way to quelling concerns. Even a sentence or two from the club to say that the recruitment is proceeding but we do not want to jeopardise the process would be helpful. The club appears to be its own worst enemy in this respect and its silence only fuels negative speculation that impacts upon themselves.

The club have gone some way to filling the football expertise gap in appointing external consultants to assist in the recruitment process, however, it is reasonable to say that the fanbase still has reservations that Vincent Tan will embrace any recommendation that they may come up with and put in place a decision based on his own special kind of footballing expertise.

“We hear you” said the club in its statement of 29 April, well, we are not hearing you.

The main thing you said was at the bottom WILL TAN LISTEN to people, who know a lot more about football than him?

Good statement but the board won’t listen as usual

Even that most tactile of organisations, the CCFC Trust, seems to be getting it's panties in a twist recently with the complete and utter disdain shown by the club to it's supporters.

Not a bad statement but nothing that can't be fobbed off in the usual way by the Politician, ignored by the Car Salesman and used to wipe his arse with by the owner.

Club is a shambles!!

The heirachy keep on saying we will listen and communicate better blah blah blah when the reality is Tan does exactly what he wants and listens to nobody

I have no idea how Tan has become such a successful businessman because everything we know about him suggests he is a complete imbecile :banghead:

It’s clear the hierarchy are going to do what they want and will just say what they think supporters want to hear and continue to take the money from supporters.

Next season the protests need to continue as well as other action to make it clear we don’t want these clowns in charge any longer. Whilst they are in charge this club will continue to decline. They have absolutely zero footballing knowledge and do not understand football supporters and what is important to them

I think everyone agrees it's a poor show .....to be polite

The problem is unless tan drops his asking price we are stuck with what we have

He's putting in 12 million a year .......yes much of it on poor quality

But the reality is we have to have an alternative owner or we are up shite creek with no paddle

Unfortunately until Tan sells up then the circus will continue, such a damn shame especially with the potential this club can be, just a crying shame thinking where this club should be.

I spoke to a lovely lady in the ticket office today and she couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. She got me sorted with the minimum of fuss and explained the process to follow. Not sure why you put them in the list but to be honest I think you just created a it to suit your beef without consideration

Vincent Tan will embrace any recommendation that they may come up with and put in place a decision based on his own special kind of footballing expertise.

He has a special kind of footballing expertise?
That explains it completely why we were relegated.
I'd add that Postman Pat has more footballing expertise.

That's a fair enough statement, but it would be good to stop f*(*)*g about and give the new manager, whoever it may be, some time to get organised and get their players organised properly before the start of the season.

Has there been any reply from the club to the Trust statement?

Or do they continue to treat the fanbase including the Trust like the shit on their shoes?
