Before Riza was appointed there were strong rumours that they wanted Bilic, but the sticking point was that he was still getting paid a lot of money by his previous club.

So could Bilic be this elusive number 1 target the board are looking for and ending his contract is the sticking point along with the package for him and his team maybe ?

Absolutely no chance. I was under the impression Billic was waiting to see whether we stayed up or not. So maybe if we stayed in the championship we may have had a chance but absolutely not now.
