Maybe what you say ties in with why he turns debt to equity theres some sort of get out of debt system tied to businesses? Ex boss deliberately run a buisness down in Hong Kong so that it went bust so avoiding taxes when he left country!

I can't help but think there is some strategy behind all this that mere mortals don't understand. I have no idea I am not even trying to pretend.

About a 18 years ago my company was subject of a highly leveraged takeover. To stop the local management teams freaking out at the size of the debt we sat through a one day course on leveraged buyouts and how they are reported. This was very top level I am an Engineering manager not a finance person. But it blew my mind how these city bankers/accountants move money from one pot to another, rarely pay tax, and how they service and report on the debt.
We never made a profit for a decade but everyone was happy.

I can't help but think there is some strategy behind all this that mere mortals don't understand. I have no idea I am not even trying to pretend.

Ned perhaps i have got this wrong, but is not all the debt Tans debt not the clubs so in effect the club is debt free apart from Dalhams and another small one to some loan company, when Tan goes does he not take that the large debt with him??? Perhaps someone could explain to me because I have no idea

Most football clubs are in the same position , even the clubs now that come down after one year are in the shit, when we went up with warnock over 50 million was spent that season just in players bonuses its madness.

I’m not sure what the actual figures are as I’m not by any means an accountant and I’ve not looked at the accounts - so figures may or may not be correct.

The rest of it is about right though.

I’ve said it before that we have three people in positions of major power at our club, who are the key decision makers and all of them are part time for City - to the point that we are an ‘if we have time’ role for all three of them.
