Done deal back to Oxford apparently.
Lives in Oxfordshire and has been to home and away matches watching Oxford at times but left under a bit of a cloud so I’d be surprised.
Might just be an IGov type rumour on their board mind.

Could see that happening.
Obviously knows the club well and a lot of their players.

Didn't he only just sign a new contract with us
Mon May 26, 2025 3:47 pm
Adds quality to the squad for sure.
Gary Rowett type who could start or be on bench covering left back and left wing and able to play left wing back.
Mon May 26, 2025 3:48 pm
Wish him luck there if true.
Can fully understand if he doesn't want to play in League One.
Always gives his all, so don't think anyone would have any hard feelings against him.

Adds value that.

I saw him applauding Oxford fans at the end of our game with them. I said to my daughter and mates, "He is lining up next season."
He was our best player this season, and doesn't need to be playing in L1.
Doesn't fit into the "must play" 4231.
He is an old-fashioned 442 left midfielder. He is also a very effective wing-back for those who play 3 at the back.

If he does go at least we get some cash. Because it won’t be on a free even with any release clause.

I'd be surprised if it didn't suit both parties to insert a relegation clause in that contract. He and Robinson would be Bosmans in a month. When they extended it was only a possibility we'd be relegated, they are solid championship players on championship wages.
Reality will bite this week

We don't know what was written into the contract. It may be if we are relegated then the club will allow them to be free transfers.

I would be surprised and disappointed if he does go . He seems one of the players who has been most committed to the club this year. If he has been to Oxford games it cant have been this season as he has been almost an ever present. Probably last season when he was injured for most of the year and probably had a lot of time on his hands at home.
Unless they have put in a huge offer which is very unlikely, given that we haven't even appointed a new manager yet, if its true it would show what idiots we have in charge at the club.

If you know you can get a championship deal after this Cardiff deal runs out, would you sign a deal that significantly lessens your salary upon relagation. I'd sign the two year extension with the proviso that i can leave for free if we get relegated.

Really hits home when Oxford are poaching our best players.
Embarrassing.

It
Patronising much??
It’s Wrexham coming for our players is the kicker.

Losing one of our better and most committed players lays purely at the feet of our incompetent owner and his sidekicks, we may have to get used to more of this, they couldn't run a tap

Unless he has a relegation release clause as has been mentioned.
McBurnie has one at a Spanish club he is leaving.

Not really embarrassing to have a player go to a team in the league above us.
If people haven't accepted we're League One yet, they're the ones who should be embarrassed.

Yes I agree, embarrassing is not the word I would use
Dissapointing that our careless ownership has allowed us to fall to a position where smaller teams (and that's not being disrespectful to Oxford) are able to come in and take our better players away
This is just another situation we have been put in due to the way our club has been ruined over the years
Mon May 26, 2025 5:55 pm
It may happen but highly doubt it's a done deal. If a fee has been offered then I could again understand. But players and agents are on holiday now. Sounds to me like a silly season rumour at the moment

A club like this being League One is embarrassing. Capital city, national team plays at our 33k seater stadium, and we’re in League One. And now because we’re in League One we have teams like Oxford poaching our best players.
It’s embarrassing.

Just typical get a rumour and first thing most do is blame club What about the player? He decides if wants to leave club decides price if want to sell that is how footba generally works..not anyone's fault he goes ..

No one can blame O’Dowda he’s one of the only players who hasn’t embarrassed themselves and shouldn’t be playing in League One.
Club can be blamed for putting us in the situation where he’s leaving

Is that really necessary when you started the thread?
Suppose it covers your backside, if it’s not true!
On the topic, I wouldn’t blame him; but he would be missed

However big we are in L1, we can't compete with championship clubs.
I'd be surprised in ElGarzi, Meite, Rinomhota, Goutas or Collins stay.
I guess that we are in talks with O'Dowda, Robinson, Horvath, Turnbull and Willock. I doubt we'd get a fee for the last three but no point keeping anyone on championship salaries even if they are reduced who don't want to be here.
Chambers will be interesting.
I think decent fee's would needed for Salech, Rubin or NG.
So we'll be POTENTIALLY left with 2 legends a few pro's and talented kids. This is why i don't think we can get this summers transfers wrong as we can be in a world of pain for seasons.

It’s a rumour from someone posting not something official.

Tan has caused all this the break up of any decent players and what will we do to replace our best going elsewhere f.ck all can anyone really see tan pumping in millions of pounds,

He’s did mention that he saw it posted on an Oxford forum, and mentioned that he doesn’t know if it’s true or not.
He’s posted where he saw it, and said it might not be true.
It’s hardly what Roger does, which is post a name, say it’s definitely happening but refuse to even mention how or where he saw it.

It's a reality check for the club if it happens.
He's proved himself to be a championship level quality player, so it's no wonder he should look to carry on playing at that level.
