DOGE. (WALES)

Mon May 26, 2025 10:48 am

Senedd members are part time. They sit just two days a week, for which they’re paid a minimum of £76k a year.

But what do they get up to on those days when they are in the Senedd?

Heledd Fychan is Plaid MS. She sits on the Business Committee, so earns £86,716 a year. Her demands that politicians get help with childcare and the ability to work from home.

The Senedd sits just two days a week. It always starts at 1.30pm sharp. Most of the time, it’s finished by 6. Heledd thinks those hours are “unpredictable”, so needs help with childcare. Do you agree with this?

Value for money ?

The Senedd is full of town councillors promoted way above their ability, they’re on the gravy train and they ain’t getting off.
Shut it down, we have enough self serving parasite politicians in Westminster, we don’t need another layer in Cardiff .

Senedd is a complete waste of time and always has been

It has achieved virtually nothing in 25 years and has been an absolute disaster for Wales

Drakeford was a joke and couldn’t even dress himself, Gething was an out and out crook who played the race card to cover his numerous inadequacies and the current law breaking Baroness is way out of her depth

At least at the next elections half of these bozos are going to lose their seats to reform candidates who no doubt will be just as bad :banghead:

I voted no at its inception. I’d vote no now.

The problem is if you publicly voice that view you get screamed at by some with a more nationalistic leaning which is highly frustrating. I’m far from being anti Welsh. I’m a long way away from being some wannabe english.

I’m just a normal person that wants to provide for my family and have as few political and bureaucratic Kaye’s as possible.
On the pretence of “greater say”They drain our wallets for ever larger amounts of tax money and spend ever larger amounts of money on their pet projects.

It’s not anti Welsh to want them gone. It’s just a different view on how I’d like my tax money spent and how much I’d want them to take.

Aren't they working at their constituency the rest of the time?

I believe the act passed to add the 30 odd additional members also included the right for SM’s to job share too. Dripford said it was to enable a work/life balance to be achieved. Kin joke from the time it was conceived let alone enacted.
