BIRMINGHAM FANS PICKED OFF LAST SEASON!!

Sun May 25, 2025 9:45 am

Talking to a birmingham fan last night(he's staying in cardiff for the bank holiday weekend). He told me Cardiff need to be wary at away games next season. He said lots of small shitty clubs were turning up looking to make a name for themselves.Crap cctv around the grounds and hardly any coppers on duty at some grounds.Picking off small groups and targeting pubs and drinkers. :bluebird:

Sadly they are right and I can see it happening to us.

It’s way more lively in the lower leagues

Time to get out the 24 hole Doc Martens and Harrington jacket from the back of the wardrobe and relive the "glory" days of the 70s and 80s!

Should be able to get my walking stick and zimmer frame into the ground a bit easier now than back in the day!

If that’s the case I fear for some of our younger supporters who give it large.

Perhaps they will learn you have to back it up,
they have lived on the old crew for years sticking there chests out they will have to learn to stick there fists out or leg it or shut it.

We have so many young fans these days who are happy to mouth off about the old days (when they weren't even there and neither was I because I'm too young) but would shit themselves if a group of opposition fans came towards them.

Those days have gone now - thankfully in my opinion.

But I would assume what the OP is saying is that some of these smaller clubs' fans will be more likely to respond to our fans who have the same idea, not those who just want to watch a game of football and then go home.

Agree. It always amazes me how many of our fans - not just the younger fans- mouth off and give it large. I remember being at Wolves a few years ago and a bunch of lads mouthing off and giving abuse and then they were shocked when a couple of Wolves lads got stuck into them. As a someone who was a youngster going to away games in the 70's and 80, I still can't shake off that instinct to be very aware of danger when I am on my own or in a small group at away games even though i am in my sixties now.

From what i have seen at away games they seem to be able to handle themselves, i witnessed them give the wurzels what for over there, and also heard that after being set right up at Pompey they gave an account of themselves against larger numbers and lots of old heads on the Pompey side. Im sure when the lads who started the soul crew when they were 16 / 17 were looked upon in the same way but you have to loose a few battles to start winning them. Good luck to our youngsters keep up the good work, and just as parting shot apparently they did the Jacks youngsters at the datrts the other week in Cardiff.

Mansfield had a go at the FA Cup replay a few years back, they unfortunately for them started on a few old and bold minding their own business on way back to transport after game. :bluebird:

Bring them on I say. We’re one of the most watched and respected firms in the country. It would be a big mistake on their part no matter who they are
