It's a romantic view, the bloke who supports Cardiff ends up being the manager.
But how many have actually studied the way he manages football teams?
The fans didn't like Bulut because the style was tough to watch. Well, he doesn't even compete with Jones in that sense.
Jones would get leeway because he supports the club but very quickly the fans would despise the style.
It is ugly football at it's worst and that's why Charlton are doing well - they depress teams into losing to them.
He also comes across as a massive c**t.

Completely agree.

Yeah i studied him every time little Luton (the team he built) beat progressive Cardiff & Swansea.
Its about the wins, the romance is trying to play a style of football we can't and won't get us promoted.
I want the ball going forward much quicker than watching centre halfs thinking they are Beckenbauer playing sideways then back to a keeper who is petrified of the ball. Its got us relegated.
I want a pragmatist

Dour football.
Old school.
He’s a big fan of himself. And does get results.
But watching that stuff again would nail me personally

Isn't it about winning? Warnock was a winner and despite his perseved hoofball we came top 3 in attacking play which got us promoted... Parker this year ffs I couldn't beare to go watch us play burnley such tedious football but promoted! If Jones gets us promoted will people care how we played? All managers have their idiosyncrasies that fans love or hate?

I sense sarcasm in your post but my point is that we had a half decent season with Bulut (results wise) and people were crying about the style.
If he got the job (which is not expected) then people would go from desperately wanting him to hating him.
His style is the worst possible.
Also stick by my comment that he's a bit of a c**t.

IMO we have abandoned any sort of identity trying to be an iditkit "progressive" passing team, gradually becoming worse and worse as we haven't got any sort of recruitment structure or talent so inevitably ended up bottom with a physically weak slow team with limited ability to play a possesion based game.
The last thing i want is another manager promising me a possession-based game with 20 players who have failed miserably over the last three seasons.
Bulut and Jones are miles apart. Bulut barely passed halfway and Jones gets it forward and wins the second ball, its old school but effective.
I want wingers on their correct wing with real speed and crosses into the box, Full backs that occasionally overlap, no 6's, or 10's just CM and centre forwads. I want rid of all the bollox and someone like Jones is my best bet.
He'd be too outspoken and troublesome for Tan, so i doubt its happening. I can see Ramsey which is the last thing i think we need.

That's actually a really good point and response.
I do agree it's unlikely Tan will say yes to him and I also agree that Ramsey is not the answer.
Although I still don't think the style of Jones would go down well - despite his success.

I think Burnley were typical of the type of team that grinds out results. To get promoted you have to simply outscore the opposition and whether that is winning games 3-1 or 1-0 is immaterial. In the league this season not one team scored more than one goal against Burnley and that is bloody impressive.

It's about winning playing crap, that's Cardiff all over, dragging teams down and winning, who remembers playing a game when we played rubbish and we won, we need wins thats what excites the fans on the way home, next day looking at the league table moving up, winning the league going to higher league clubs and beating them, for me winning is what I want, the style we play will don't bother me.

In terms of “style” for me the most exciting football to watch is fast.
What the best teams do, is slow the game down and pick moments to ramp up. We simply can’t do that, very few teams in any of the top 3 leagues can do that, but everyone tries.
The Warnock way was to play in the final 3rd, how it gets there needed to be the fastest possible option. Diagonal balls to quick wingers or up to a target man to bring down. From there, the midfield unit support in numbers, and get a shot away. At one point in the promotion season we led the shots per game stat while never breaking 50% possession.
If Jones brought that style it would excite me. What Bulut did was retained possession and we heavily relied on set piece goals. We struggled to take shots or score which was my gripe with his style. That said I was one who supported his contract, more in fear of who we would replace him with.
