We’ve had a fair few different owners in the last 40 or so years.
I’d be interested in seeing where people would rate VT in the list.
For me there have been obvious pros and cons. We’ve had some owners try their best but not had the clout to move us forward, and we have had owners that were horrendous.
To my knowledge, since the middle of the 80s we’ve had:
Jack Leonard
Tony Clemo
Rick Wright
Kumars
Steve Borley
Sam Hammam
Peter Ridsdale
VT

Replace Ridsdale with PMG.

Bob Grogan was early 80's, sadly passed away before he completed his ambition for Cardiff city. In my opinion he would have been our best owner if he hadn't passed.

Rick Wright and Sam Hamamm were two who really got us going. Sadly neither had the money to push us on.
From Sam to PMG the issues with finances started and we suddenly became a club living well beyond our means. While it’s clearly stagnated under Tan we aren’t having the issues with missing payments to HMRC which had us on the verge of liquidation.

This would be my order - with reasons.
1) Sam Hammam - Yes he made mistakes but I would love to see him back.
2) Steve Borley - Mr Cardiff City. Might not be able to fund us to EPL on his own - but Mr Cardiff City
3) Jack Leonard - With Bob Grogan, and Kenton Utilities, had a real passion for Cardiff City
4) Tony Clemo - Who once bought a 10 seater plane to take players to away matches
5) VT - Lots of mistakes, very divisive, but as high as 5th for the £250m he has invested although with little success
6) Rick Wright - Admission prices dependant on where we were in the table. Limited funds
7) Peter Ridsdale - Would have been bottom had it not been for the Kumars
8) Kumars - Birmingham retailers who had as much knowledge of football as the Kumars at Number 42
