This is just a bit of fun, but if you could guarantee we'd keep three players for next season then who would you choose.
Here are mine:
Salech - doesn't really need explaining. Scored plenty in a struggling Championship team. Could easily get 20+ in League One. Crucially he has a physical presence too so won't be bullied by L1 CBs.
Robertson - let's be honest, he was a bit hit and miss in the Championship. But he has the ability and quality, one of our highest rated players if you listen to the stat people. Did half a season in this league with Pompey and their fans said he was one of the best players in the league.
Fish - possibly a bit left field here. But I actually liked Fish when he played. Problem was he wasn't given a regular CB partnership, much like the rest of the CBs. But he's young and has shown that he has ability. What's crucial is getting a tough and experience CB to play alongside him - then I think he'd flourish.

I would go with Rinhomota, Salech and Ralls.
I agree that Fish and Robertson are good players, but I think that Ralls - for his attitude and Rinhomota for his commitment are essential.

Wouldn’t disagree.
If we’re signing 4 players I’m thinking that 2 will be absolute monsters - one at CB and one in midfield.

Salech, Salech, Salech…. If we can keep him, it will show the fans some real intent going forward, for once.

I sent this exact question in to VFTN a few weeks ago and ironically these are also my 3. Rubin as an honourable mention because I really think a season in League 1 would benefit him.
I truly think there’s a top quality player in Robertson so hope he stays but can’t see it.

Have to agree with you Ned but I also think Turnbull is essential so I would say change your post to 4

Salech if the club have any ambition on getting promotion this man has to STAY. One of the stand out players from last season.
Scores goals and one of a few players I think who actually enjoy playing for us. Bonus points awarded for assisting in helping out a fan in medical trouble. “He’s big he’s hard he will give you CPR” should have been a chant ringing around our stadium.
Rinhomota
Played over 30 games for us last season and won players player of the year, he is a no brainier for me. Shows other players think highly of him. He deserves to stay here more than most. After losing his brother and putting on his shirt and playing on the man in my eyes is an absolute warrior for us and would be missed.
Going to go with Robinson as my third choice he will be devastating in league one another shining light for me in a season that can only be described as a SHIT SHOW. He can be lazy and does go missing at times but on his day what a player, he will frighten the life out of some players.
https://x.com/ef_stats/status/1923031366486114307?s=61 check the stats out not bad for a player who spent most of the season in a struggling side amd missed a few games towards the end of the season.
I think a few clubs will come after a few of our players, it’s hard to pick just three players to keep as I hope they keep at least seven including some of the ones previously mentioned by others. The club needs a good clear out as there are quite a few players at the club who are not fit to pull pints let alone wear OUR shirt and represent the club.

Salech - knows where the back of the net is.
Odowda - only as a wide midlielder. Cares for club.
Rinhomota - battler needed for league 1.

Salech
Turnbull
Bagan

Salech
O'Dowda Left wing in a 442
Ralls
Need a 442 or one of its variants. This isn't a fancy Dan division so getting O'Dowda back to his real position and playing a speedster off Salech is the way to go IMO.
