Would the fans accept new ownership?

Wed May 14, 2025 3:44 pm

.... That includes Mehmet Dalman?

Just to put it out there, I have no knowledge if that's a possibility. I have no idea if it could even happen.

But if Tan were to sell to a group that included Dalman and led to Dalman having more of a say in the future ownership group, would you accept that?

Just going to keep it as a straightforward "yes" or "no" poll.

Only asking because for months now there have been a few comments on here and social media suggesting that some believe Dalman will be involved in the next ownership group of the club.

My personal opinion is that I would.

Dalman is a good spin man and that's what most have an issue with him for.

But he does at least have many contacts across football and in business in general.

People may point to that he's been involved for a long time with Tan. But his say has been limited at the club for most seasons, due to the fact that nothing happens without Tan's say so.

He has also long been more favourable to having footballing expertise on the board, but has been blocked by Tan.

So I would not be against a new ownership group taking over that would include Dalman, of course with footballing experts also brought into the club for the long term - be that a Sporting Director or a DoF.

Sure, he would struggle to do any worse than the head clown has done.

I think some of our most success has been while Dalman has been a bit more involved. Warnock said that Dalman was incredibly helpful to him when he was manager.

Got to take a leap of faith regarding dalman but as you say his input as been stiffled by Tan?
But he does have football buisness knowledge that will be useful... cannot have a novice looking to do a Wrexham ect... tans problem is he's overstayed his time just like reading and others have done so and can only end up in same way accromony

I would, yes.

Dalman is the only one of the board which has any football involvement whatsoever - I think if Tan wasn’t involved then Dalman would be more likely to leave footballing things to footballing people.

For all his faults and bullshit at least he acknowledges the need for people who actually know a bit about the football side of things and seems willing to put a football structure in place

Just a shame Vincent tan Zidane the all knowledgeable football guru doesn't agree

i personally dont trust any of them to make the right decisions for the club but sometimes its better the devil you know

Re: Would the fans accept new ownership?

I don't think our problems are down to dalman. Yes he's done some things wrong but ultimately he's got his hands tied behind his back as long as tan remains intransigent. All he can do is be the public face of someone he clearly is at odds with. It's never tan facing anyone. It's dalman.

Would we be better with him? No idea. But I don't think he's self destructive and i do think he at least understands football. He also appears to know where the stadium is

I think Pembroke Allan hit the nail on the head, Dalman as football financial knowledge.. he brokered tge Glasiers take over of Man u... and he recognises we need more football knowledge at the club... his knowledge is limited.

If there was a Premier League Director I would love to have at this club it would be Josh Harris - who owns an 18% share in Crystal Palace worth £112m.

This being a minority shareholding he is not in charge - and that's what he likes - "to be in charge".

Now anyone who likes their NFL, and I support the Washington Commanders, will know that for many years (Like Cardiff) Washington who in the doldrums. They were going nowhere. Then a few years back Josh Harris buys the Commanders for $6billion and turned the club around. Sorted the whole club around. Signed decent players (Jayden Daniels) and they become the 3rd best team in the NFL last season.

Now I have no idea as to who this Premier League Director is that is meeting Mehmet.

But I would love it to be Josh Harris.

I would take Dalman over Tan yes. Straight away, any day. Tan is an ignorant, narcassistic, tyrant of a businessman with no care
for the fanbase or should I say customers!

But I dont want Dalman either, broken promises and empty words every time.

We need fresh eyes and ears. End of

Personally not interested in Premier League bound oil barons with bottomless pockets of cash to burn

Would rather Wrexham style with owners who invest in the football expertise and team but also traditions, history, community and fall in love with the club and its people. That over EPL and European football every time, if the latter happens then thats a bonus
