It's down to who Tan chooses

Fri May 09, 2025 2:44 pm

Paul Abbandanato:

Slight update. @CardiffCityFC are looking at a host of options as manager. One or two would excite, couple of others semi at best, a few don’t appeal to me at all. Hopefully they’re ruled out. They’ll come up with a final shortlist of 2-3, then it’ll be Tan’s decision

Most worrying part about this is "it'll be Tan's decision".

If it’s Tans decision then he could completely disregard any short list.

Worrying thought.

If it’s down to Tan only again, then Dalman has refused to lend us anymore money.

We already owe Dalman £36 mill at £3.8mill a year in interest.

Tan will take us to Div 4.

He only puts clueless puppets in, so he can totally control them.

So how does abbadanato know this? Very flimsy. Without names it’s worthless self important talk.

How the hell does Dalman get all this interest? Surely as Chairmsn this is a conflict of interest? Am I right in saying this!

Tans choice! oh shit.

He also states in a reply to that tweet he expects this to drag on a while due to certain conditions,

I interpreted it as a couple of the choices are still in jobs and the club is waiting on the outcome of the playoffs

Annis, i don't understand why Dalman isn't insisting on a bigger say on the new manager considering he's in for about £40 million ?? You know my feelings about Dalman, but i would take him over Tan everytime when it comes to picking the next manager.

If he hasn't learnt his leason from relegation he never will.
It's now not a choice to make the right choice it's a necessity.
Make or break time Mr Tan

My only hope with this, if what Paul says is right, is:

They put three candidates like Buckingham, Karl Robinson and another experienced manager on the final shortlist.

From three like that, Tan can't pick an untested manager.

That's what they should do. Because given the chance, Tan would just go with a cheap manager.

They could put over whoever they want Ned, but ultimately Tan has final say and if he doesn’t like who’s on the shortlist, he can just go outside of the shortlist to someone he prefers.

That's true.

My view is that there are two good candidates - Buckingham and Jones.

If they can't get Jones out of his contract then I can accept that, but there's no excuse with Buckingham.

Agree with that - I think most would be very happy with Buckingham.

Should have offered him the job when Bulut left but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

So it's basically whoever agrees to what tan wants.
A yes man
A cheap man
And most of all a manager who lacks experience
Hope they don't apoint A foreign manager who knows nothing about this league.

Of course we all don't know due to (any communication to fans) so it a guessing game for us fans as usual.

I always say Rob Edwards or someone similar to him who knows lower leagues and how to get teams out of them.
