Wasserman leading Cardiff City’s manager hunt

Cardiff City have officially brought in global sports agency Wasserman to lead the search for our next manager.

After the sacking of Omer Riza and a short interim stint for Aaron Ramsey that ended in relegation, the club now says the priority is bouncing back to the Championship ASAP. But instead of hiring a Director of Football or adding football expertise at board level, they’ve handed the reins to Wasserman — an external agency with experience mainly in Europe and North America.

The recruitment process is already underway, potential managers will be interviewed in the next few weeks, with a shortlist being drawn up before a multi-stage interview process kicks off.

But here’s the big question:

Do you trust Wasserman — and more importantly, do you trust the board — to get this right?

No!

They said they brought in people to advise them last time, but then just appointed Riza.

You don't need a global agency, just speak to people who understand League One and they will suggest a manager.

Bringing in a foreign manager who has never managed in the UK is very risky.

Their constant stupidity and naivety is incredible for people who aside from running a football club, are amongst the "smartest guys in the room".

This is why we should wait before getting a season ticket , this is Riza all over again.

Or just listen to us supporters!!

There are a core of around 18,000 of us - Many of whom have 10 years experience and that is 180,000 years experience between us all.

Anyway - as far as Wasserman are concerned here is a list of the Managers that they represent

Annis, this might as well be a copy and paste comment from when Bulut was sacked. Remember that bullsh*t about a european agency finding the right man and we ended up with Riza. Why would they do this?? There is a huge list of managers already available who have been there and done it in our leagues. My huge concern with this is that a european manager will come in, probably someone we've never heard of who has never managed in the english game.

I wouldn't trust any of the board if they told me it was Friday.
As mentioned above, riza was employed after we apparently had top professionals helping on the manager hunt

Doesn't mean they didn't get given good advice, they actually have to listen to the advice.

A proven league one manager is all we need.

If we struggle to get one of them then we are in a worse situation than I thought.

Reading through abbadanatos twitter makes it sound like he knows a few names on the list and also says he thinks it will drag on for a while reading through the replies hope he's wrong as I'd like the new manager in place ASAP

I see Neil Harris is represented by them.. I always quite liked NH but realise I am probably in the minority and he hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees since he left us

That's my point. It really doesn't matter who's advising them if they're not going to listen, which they won't as the head clown thinks he knows better.

Annis/Wez

The purpose of these agents is to make money and they do not make money by getting us to sign someone long term. They much prefer someone who is going to be with us for less than a year - because, for them, it is about "flipping" deals,

Most agents get paid in the region 10% of the Player/Manager salary.

They also get paid in the region of 10% of any signing on fee - and this is where the profit is.

The more often they "flip a deal" the more signing on fees they get.

So I am under no illusion that they are going to provide us with a manager for the next 5 years.

Your right Paul, same old bullshit repeated time after time.

They can appoint who they want, there’s no money, players having wage cuts due to relegation, should imagine a good few of the current squad will move on, Davies, the Colwill and Ashford will definitely attract other Clubs, I hope they all move on too for the sake of their careers, unfortunately Cardiff City isn’t an attraction.
