Ollie Tanner:
Cardiff City players are all "hurt" and "annoyed" but are determined to get the club back into the Championship, Bluebirds winger Ollie Tanner said in a statement to fans.
Tanner was one of the better performers in the early throes of the season, however a foot injury during the South Wales derby in January saw him miss months of action and he struggled to regain form at the end of the campaign when City were battling against the drop.
In a statement to fans, Tanner wrote on social media: "Bluebirds, the support you gave us over the season was incredible, you don’t deserve this. It still hurts what happened, we are all extremely annoyed as over the course of the season we weren’t good enough.
"It was a very frustrating season personally with all the injuries and disruption. It’s now time to get this club back where it belongs and start to put things right."

Plenty of people saying Tanner is league two.
But then those people also belong on cloud cookoo land.
Wonder what they will say about our players when we lost to Port Vale at home next season.

Young man, plenty of potential, very few miles on the clock due his his journey. Do you believe a championship club will come in for him?

Due to his limited time this season I don’t think so no.
But I think that the ‘league two’ label is a bit dramatic

I think the likes of Tanner, Isaak Davies, Rubin Colwill and Dylan Lawlor will be able to do a decent job in League One.
But it can't just be academy players, need some experience in there. Some will leave, so that means some new signings.
Obviously if Salech stays then that's a huge plus, a big if though.

He’s not as bad as some people try and make out. I think he’s an easy target because of where he come from. He at least try’s to do something positive in the game unlike many others.

Just a standard statement from players. Get relegated should cut their wage in half.

He has the potential but believe he was living off his Jacks goal for a considerable time, It could also be down to the constant changing of managers, Riza tactics etc. Maybe a settled manager and him in a settled position would do him good, who knows, if he will even be here next season. In my opinion he would do well in L1

I think he’ll do well in league one.
There’s always loads of negativity towards our players no matter what they do or say. A lot of it is justified, but give the lad a break.
We need players with a bit of fight in them, it’s something we lack.

Whilst I am hurting, just like every other supporter, I do wonder whether a drop down to the 3rd tier might be a bit of a blessing in disguise.
I know, there is the possibility, it may be the end of the present regime and this would please many people.
The next issue is one of "weekend happiness". After a long week in work many of us go the the CCS hoping for a win to turn our weekend from an average one to a good one. But, in years gone by, we have had a "win rate" of 1 in 5 and there have been many instances where supporters have not seen a win for 2 months or more - and this can be demoralising, This year many of the top sides, in Division 1, secured 25 wins or more and I think, if we repeated this, it would be good for the morale at the club and with supporters. I am sure we will all agree we need to start seeing what wins look like again.
The next issue relates to our players, and particularly some of our younger players, the step into Championship football has not been an easy one for many. But the experience of relegation will, in time, toughen some of these younger players up. Hopefully many of them will enjoy next season and come back to the Championship, in two years time, much better and much tougher players.
And when we return to the Championship we will do so on the back of a succesful season and have a step in our stride for the onward push to Premier League football.
But this season is the key
We cannot allow ourselves to become also rans this season. We cannot allow ourselves to be a mid table side because, in the past, we have allowed ourselves to do that, in the Championship, and we have just drifted downwards.
Next season has to be a committed push to go up as Champions.

Agree Paul
Nice to read that!
Not quite a new brush sweeping clean
but maybe the beginnings of a fresh start.
A feet finder to spring off.

He could do a lot of damage in league one and he's the sort of direct player we are going to need
Its not a place for pretty football

Spot on. Sprinkle some decent experience and we've got a good squad at this level.
