The Youngsters and Purse

We know that Tan likes someone who will listen and not question what he says.

We also know that Tan doesn’t want to pay big money for a manager, which really limits who we will be able to get.

For whatever reason, Purse is still at the club even though there have been multiple times when he should have been gone - I personally think he has something on Tan and have had this opinion for quite some time.

We have a good group of youngsters that will be expected to step up to the first team next year, starting or just first team squad.

Lawlor, Giles, Kpakio, J Colwill, Eli King, and a few others.

My concern here is that Purse fits what Tan is looking for in the next manager. He also knows the club from his time playing here and also knows the players from his role with the U21s.

I feel it’s much more likely to happen than Nathan Jones or Gary ONeil for example, and that’s worrying.

I thought the same up until a few months ago.

But given recent events, I find it hard to believe it will be Purse.

He was demoted from the first team coaching set up with Ramasut because he was part of the problem with Riza.

If it's an inexperienced manager, I strongly believe it will be Ramsey or Gunter.

Could be wrong, but I think the fear of it being Purse is over. He could be back involved with the U21s long term though which is a shame. None of the U21s like him.

This is the first post I've seen since the weekend saying that Purse might get the job - and the OP isn't claiming to be ITK, just saying that this is what he thinks might happen.

I've seen no media reports saying Purse is in contention.

Then there's the fact he was demoted from the first team when Riza went.

So I struggle to see how "it's looking like" Purse will get the job.

The board haven’t proved any of us wrong so far we saw relegation months ago , Riza called us clueless . I hope they prove me wrong by bringing in an experienced manager.

Yes definitely not ITK and I haven’t heard or read anything about Purse - just my own thoughts that were worrying

It’s how the club make us think and understandable , if they bring in an experienced manager it will be a breath of fresh air. But going by the past seasons will they do that. Also worrying that Purse and Ramasutt are still here.

With respect, that's the first sensible thing you've said

Ned's first comment makes far more sense, as Purse was part of the Riza coaching set up (his assistant, I think) but was not part of the Rambo set up

It's not unusual for an assistant manager to take over the reins after a sacking but this did not happen here and Purse was sent back to the U-21's whilst the club (nee Tan) consider his future

Like Ned, I find it difficult to believe that Purse (a big part of our failure) would be promoted again. Tan involved or not, it just doesn't make sense

I don't think there's a chance purse will be given the job, I actually think Ramsey will be given the job I'd prefer a more experienced manager but all the talk during interviews etc points towards the coaching team we have now continuing next season hopefully with a experienced dof to over see things

I am more fine with Rambo as a league 1 manager than championship. He’s got to start somewhere and better to have someone with some passion and pedigree that’s been immersed in the higher levels of football than some of the other possible options for a league 1 side.

He’s already there. He already knows the squad and he will have contacts higher up.

Is he the right man? No idea. But I’ll support anyone trying their best to better our club

I agree that’s it’s the sort of thing Tan would do.
