Rambo must be given the job.

Sun May 04, 2025 8:25 am

Being an optimist, I think Tan might listen to Rambo going forward. I think this is the perfect time for Rambo to take the job, bring in a DoF, use is undoubted connections and build a back room team and take us back to the championship. I don’t think we should miss this opportunity. :bluescarf: :bluebird: :occasion5:

But does Ramsey want the job?

It was only three games but all that changed in those three games was the players waving their arms around to try and gee the fans up. The results were depressingly similar.

We CANNOT make the same mistake we have made for years. We need an experienced manager!!!

We need someone with experience just now

People keep saying this and it’s unfounded nonsense.
Trollope was experienced as was slade as was Harris as was McCarthy as was bulut.
How quickly some forget. We need a manager who will take us forward and improve us. Experienced or not doesn’t guarantee anything each way.

Warnock - Say no more
Slade - top 10 (with a sqaud we'd wet ourselves for now)
Harris - Playoffs
McCarthy - knew the drawstring of the moneybag was being firmly closed and didn't fancy it
Lamouchi- Saved our arse in quarter of a season
Bulut- Mid-table, terrible recruitment over the summer, how many were his or "the clubs"

Morison- misunderstood genius, only learning his trade now in L2
Trollope- Was a manager at lower levels but was essentially a very good coach and not returned back to those murky waters
Hudson- Love the player, so say no more
Riza- Youth team coach, disaster

In this club you need experiance as we have little, at worse, a disfuncrtional footballing structure.

Unless a DoF comes in to oversee the whole operation we need experiance

And good managers are usually experienced

Rambo is still a player and nearly all his career, elite.

I doubt he has ever paid an electricity bill without the clubs player liaison office.

Running a football club, because that's what a Tan manager does, is one hell of a step.

Give him a decent footballing operations structure above him and i am 50/50, but not at this version of the club. The Riddler as chairman then maybe it's a possible.
I'd love Osian Roberts to want to live in Pontcanna again but even leafy Pontcanna can compete with lake Como.

Like you say usually, so not always. So no guarantees.

Give him the position of football coach to train the younger players and bring them on, but not a managers job, we need experience to get us out of League 1, sort out a DOF then get a descent manager in, I very much doubt it though knowing Tan.

I would try to lure Rob Edwards to us.
Yes things ended bad for Luton but he did take them to the Premier League from lower divisions.
And is still a good manager.

As for rambo i think it's too early for him to become a manager for us when his mind is still with playing for Wales.
Sadly i think he will need to move on because league 1 is too intense fr him to play.
if he did play a game or 2 then we won't see him for a very looong time due to injury.

And therein lies your problem, you mention a DOF but we all know that Tan considers himself a director of everything Cardiff City based.
He's tactical coach, director of football, decision maker, managerial advisor etc etc so sees no need of a DOF.
It makes sense what you say but Tan is the anchor that's dragging us down and preventing our beloved club progressing.
