Ramsey NO to Cardiff Managers Job:

Wed Apr 30, 2025 3:34 pm

Ramsey:

“Now is not the right time for me to become a manager.”

“I want to continue my playing career and continue playing for Wales.”

"Whoever is in charge next season, the team they bring in around them, and the trust that manager has in the the team he brings in, is massive. Massive. Everyone has got to buy into that.

"Then you can look to add layers to that. It's making sure you get the manager and give him the trust to bring in the right people around him.

"It's important someone is brought in with the right staff around them. You can go from there then. But you need clarity, fans need clarity, players need clarity and you can build from there."

It's time for Purse & Ramasut to get a chance.

Not sure who the journalist was but it’s the first time I’ve seen someone asking really relevant straight forward questions. Ramsey couldn’t answer them all but some of the questions needed to be asked

This tells me that there was something seriously wrong with Riza and the board.

Glenn Williams wrote the full report for WoL but it looks like it was a Press Conference where questions were asked from several quarters :ayatollah:

I don't know why they keep asking him.

He's said in every press conference he was just taking these three games.

Waste of a question to ask him about taking the job.

I have every faith that Tan will employ some useless muppet who will take us to division 2.

Re: Ramsey NO to Cardiff Managers Job:

We need a manager who will love this club, so I would go for Nathan Jones, Steve Cooper or Neil warnock, the rest can go, whoever comes in need to bring in there own staff and take the club come to where we belong, no more stupid signings, wasting money, bring the youngsters in and push in the right direction.

Not sure if this comes across as a bit harsh but, he therefore should not have taken charge of the last 3 games.

If the time is not right for the start of his managerial career, we should have gone elsewhere.

I was amazed no-one has mentioned Neil Warnock to get us up again first time. Keen to take over towards the end of last season so it would seem he may be ready for the challenge - would be a great catch in our situation. :bluescarf:

Seriously? He cares enough about the club to take charge for the last 3 games & you criticize him for it? Unfuckingbelievable.Who else do you think was coming here for just 3 games?

I assume it DID come across as a bit harsh then.

He said himself now is not the right time, so did we just give up on survival if he admits to not being ready?

My question still stands. Who is going to come here for 3 games? That's without even thinking about the 2 whole days he had before the first game. At least he was willing to try & make a difference, nobody was making much difference in those 2 days so realistically if someone else did want to come here it would have been for 2 games rather than the 3.

I just think he's the last person who should be criticized and we all know who the first should be.

No one was going to come in for the last 3 games, how late the decision was made is a whole new thread.

I was glad he took it on, it has just been a bit of a downer to hear he is not ready AFTER the fact.

We can agree on who to criticise! (It is Tan and the board..... yes.... just checking)

Maybe he's just not ready to give up playing, but seeing as he is injured and unavailable for the 3 games and no decent proven manager is likely to have been interested then I don't see any better option.

Why would Ramsey take this job on ?
No chance , he knows how badly run the whole club is , and would never work under tan ,
Ramseys been at the top and he’s probably mortified seeing the goings on tan and co
TAN OUT , dalman out , choo out
Give us our club back
