Away Followings Next Season

Tue Apr 29, 2025 7:16 am

This season our attendances have been been boosted by large visiting away supports

Leeds , Pompey , Swansea , Oxford , West Brom , Stoke , Wednesday

I am not sure of our average home gate but it's going to drop considerably

Some fans have suggested that our crowds next season could be ok if we do well

I think they are in for a big shock unless some of the sides in league one bring big followings

I will be amazed if we average 14000

All depends, we may have some fans that come back for the League One experience (let’s call them suckers for punishment). The season ticket sales will be a good yardstick when it comes to our attendances.

I think our attendances will be similar if we’re competing at the top of the league. We’ve only seen 9 wins this season, at the end of the day winning football brings people in.

I’m dreaming of a 23,000 crowd as we march towards promotion, the sun is shining, Salech is bagging hat tricks and we’ve all got smiles on our faces…………………but I have had a lot of caffeine this morning and may well be delirious.

People who aren't die hard supporters like us on here will watch a winning team, no matter what the league is.

So if we're near the top then the crowds will be half decent. Not 25k plus but still decent.

But if we struggle, it will be extremely bleak in that stadium.

Hard to call at the moment. We're a brand new stadium to visit for a lot of these League One clubs. The big down side to next season is the vast majority of clubs are based up north.

If the club make any good decisions, perform well on the pitch and make top 6, we'll get 20k no problem.

My overwhelming feeling though is that it will be another disappointing season.

Anyone who thinks that next season we will be challanging for promotion is deluded. they will put out a statement. get us to buy season tickets (which i will again) but if you really want change, we need to stand up and not buy them, we need to make a stand agaisnt vincent and the board. but you'll get the 'your not a real fan if you don't renew' lot harping on about how good they are buying a season ticket whenifact most of them were plastic liverpool fans 22 years ago, I see them all from school. all prem fans and now 'cardiff fans'

we used to create an atmospwhere and get things done. now we are just a library !

It'll help that in league 1 there are only five midweek match days we had 8 at just home this year.
We should get a lot more Saturday 3pm kick offs and bar the derbies that when we've had our biggest crowds this year.

I don't see any clubs bringing more than 1500 or so

No big boys at all in league 1 really

Personally I'm not going to let a dodgy football owner dictate whether I go to the football or not. Cardiff's my team and always will be, regardless of who's there.

Safer options for sure.

What will change are our allocation for away games next season. There's some small grounds in League 1

Now Birmingham are promoted, apart from about half a dozen clubs most teams home support is under 10k. Biggest clubs remaining in terms of home attendances are Bolton who average 21k and Huddersfield 18k. Next up are Charlton who get nearly 15k and then Barnsley & Reading 12k.

So what proportion of these bigger clubs travel is uncertain, but it's likely we won't get many clubs bringing 1000+.

Plymouth will be well represented and also whover else comes down from the Championship, and possibly Bradford if they get promoted.

If we are winning and at the top I think we will get big crowds Birmingham did , I spoke to a fan of there's in my hotel on holiday last week and he said he really enjoyed this season.

A couple of seasons ago we were getting bigger crowds than Birmingham

They have been woken up by new investment

I’ve got a mate who I met on holiday last summer a Birmingham fan and we keep in touch but the difference is there owners are committed to bringing Birmingham back up investing a lot of money into the club hoping to build a new stadium as well they walked the league this year tan not going to spend money on bringing us back up
