' A RELEGATION STATEMENT - YET STILL NOTHING FROM CARDIFF '

Mon Apr 28, 2025 10:55 am

So Carlisle immediately release a relegation statement but still nothing from our "hierarchy", again proving they don't care about the fans.

I hope they are reading this and compile something without insulting us further with the usual empty and completely meaningless platitudes.

This should have been the first job on their list for release today. Careless & Clueless.

"Dear Carlisle United Supporters,

Today’s result confirms our relegation from Sky Bet League Two. Let us start by saying this clearly: we are deeply sorry. This is a painful day for everyone connected to Carlisle United. The frustration and anger felt across the fanbase is fully shared by us. As owners, we take responsibility - and we are committed to correcting what has gone wrong and rebuilding this club with urgency and purpose.

The season started with ambition and hope. But the performances and results simply weren’t good enough. A strong finish in April couldn’t undo the damage of earlier failures. The table doesn’t lie - we fell short of the standards you rightly expect.

Yet in the face of that, your loyalty has been extraordinary. From 11,000 at Brunton Park on Good Friday to almost 1,000 of you in Cheltenham today, you’ve never stopped showing up. That unwavering support is the soul of this football club. It deserves better.

In recent weeks, Mark Hughes has helped rebuild the connection between the team and supporters. It’s a small but important step. It shows what this club can still become - and underlines how far we still have to go.

That’s why a full, top-to-bottom review of Carlisle United is already underway. Football performance. Recruitment. Culture. Structure. Day-to-day operations. Everything is being examined. There will be no shortcuts. No excuses. No sacred cows. Where change is needed, change will happen.

Throughout the season, we ensured the club had the financial backing to compete. That backing will continue. Relegation does not change our long-term vision - or our commitment - to get this club back on its feet and moving forward.

Planning for next season is already in motion. Discussions with Mark Hughes are ongoing and positive. The objective is clear: build a squad capable of promotion, backed by professional standards and modern infrastructure.

We’ll have more to share with you after the final match. We will be transparent. We will be accountable. And we will not hide from the work ahead.

To every supporter who stood by us this year - thank you. You are the foundation we will rebuild on. You are why this club still has a future worth fighting for.

Now the mission is simple: To rebuild. To rise. To return.

That work starts now.

UTB"

The board are probably arguing about who will write it. Someone will leave it to a 'club spokesman'.

Because it's going to take a big excuse to get around this one from Dalman. Tan said top 2, Bulut top 6?

This consistent tactic of "radio silence" and zero communication from the board and especially now is criminal. It's a 10 minute job and the very least they should be doing.

The only official apology of sorts has come from Rambo as interim manager during his speech at the awards night. Shows his integrity as a player and fan of the club. How much of what he said did the board listen too and take on board though that will remain to be seen.

As for a statement, Rambo might put something into the Norwich program in his away Manager comments that most tend to run half a page for

Double relegation for Carlisle. They were relegated from League One a year ago.

Hopefully similar doesn't happen to us.

Maybe no one has told Tan yet that we've been relegated!

Why don’t someone at the club just use AI to get something out lol

I was able to generate the following in a couple of seconds:

Club Statement: Apology to Supporters

To all Cardiff City supporters,

We want to offer our heartfelt apologies following the confirmation of our relegation to League One. This is a deeply painful moment for everyone associated with our great club — none more so than you, the loyal fans who have stood by us through every high and low.

Throughout the season, your unwavering support, both home and away, has been extraordinary. You have shown passion, resilience, and commitment that deserved so much more than the outcome we now face. We recognise that we have fallen short of the standards expected and the ambitions we share with you.

As a club, we accept full responsibility. We are already working hard behind the scenes to rebuild, refocus, and ensure that Cardiff City returns stronger. We owe it to you to learn from this difficult experience, to show real fight, and to restore the pride that this badge deserves.

Thank you for your incredible support. We will do everything we can to repay your loyalty and lead this club back to where it belongs.

The statement from Carlisle is impeccable are lot can learn so much from that.
At least they have some unitity compassion and integrity.
A willingness to communicate and a plan of action and some sincerity.

Our lot are the opposite

Carlisle put out this statement because they are a decent honourable board who cares for the fans and the club not a miserable twisting poisonous bunch of spivs liars and shysters

Hell will freeze over before we get any statement from the circus act purporting to be a functional and accountable board of directors.

As usual, the indifference and disdain for the fans comes across in the wall of silence from these clueless clowns.

The only language they may understand is a mass season ticket boycott.

You're totally right but are you suprised?? We are a very badly run club and people in the football world know it. Until we get rid of Tan and the two parisites we can't move on.

I'm sadly not surprised at all, it's entirely predictable and Tan will never change, leopards and spots.

It would have taken the right people precisely one working month to have sorted this mess out when we were still in the championship and execute a sensible and workable framework & budget to achieve sustainable PL football. Think Brighton.

Our dire situation is beyond unacceptable and should never have come to this.

And it's all down to one man.
