A forum for all things Cardiff City

AARON RAMSEY:
"Things are a little different to what I've experienced at other clubs. Normally you do have a head of football or a sporting director, things like that, who are overseeing everything, day-to-day operations, and they are aligned with the club.
"But the biggest thing for me is making sure the right coaching staff is there, because they drive the right habits and create a culture. So that's the most important thing, making the right decision in that and trusting the right person with that to bring in the right people around them, who has the team's best interest at heart.
"As long as that structure is OK you can get away with a lot of other things and you can give these players an opportunity.
"At the end of the day, everyone has to look at themselves in the mirror and we have to be big enough to accept that. It's so, so important, because this club has got so much potential, it's just about getting that right and it's about responding to this and getting back quickly."

Said other day we don't end a DOF what we need is good coach snd assistants plus an owner who listens to the People he's charged with for getting results on pitch! We failed miserably with riza purse and ramundsun? Put tan in mix and it was a disaster that happened. Maybe his words will hit home to tan as to why he's lost
Maybe £100m..
The structure outside 1st team is great its the no1 part of club that is wrong

Was that a pre or post relegation comment. I genuinely think the coaching set up from the last 2 games could work, but I was excited when Trollope got the job too.

I feel really sorry for him having to be the face for the club after this season's disaster. He always speaks eloquently and reasonably. Reading between the lines he clearly thought the coaching 'structure' was an utter shambles under Riza. I think he's torn on what to do next as he has great loyalty to this club. I hope he stays as a player coach. He was also clear they need to make a decision quickly on a manager well before pre-season. There needs to be a club statement from the board next week.

No there needs to be a statement in the next 24 hours if not tonight.

You’re absolutely right, there does need to be a club statement, and decision on a manager soon….
But let’s remember that VT knows best… don’t expect anything until the end of July (this year hopefully) for his decision (after interviews with 30 odd top notch experienced managers).

This was said after the game today.
The last two performances have been a massive improvement, but the club left it too late.

Just watched the press conference and Ramsey was visibly emotional.
Fair play to him for taking the job on, didn't have to. It was an impossible job.
The last two performances have been a massive improvement.

Ramsey has been at big clubs he knows the structure in modern football it's been his life since he was a kid he's seen it all done it all at the highest level he knows .
Tan however thinks he knows best its his money his club.
Tan is wrong and this relegation proves it .it's not just that it's the total disconnect of the club with the local community and the fans .
Fans arnt stupid and money aside they are the soul and life blood of a club and we been shouting from the roof tops and they don't listen.
Someone needs to take responsibility and if he can't sell it on and let someone else have a go .
Enough is enough
I hope everyone at city enjoys your awards tonight.
If I was part of that I wouldn't go out of principle you don't achieve awards for failure.
It's a huge failure I Hope the club understands that and I shouldn't have to spell it out .

Ramsey's right in what he's saying but let's be honest,
a director of football isn't going to work for Cardiff until tan leaves,
even if tan hired a DOF would he take his advice? I don't think he will and it will be like having another Dalman at the club, coming out of his shell every 6 months just to tell us "Tan makes all the decisions, not me"
the only way I see us turning things around is either
Tan changes his ways and his approach to how he runs a football club(won't happen) or
Tan sells(which needs to happen)

I'd go with Rambo and Gunter next season. They've both had experience at the top end of the game and know how a club should be run.
