Why Cardiff fans shouldn't give up on survival yet

Wed Apr 23, 2025 4:01 pm

Ali Maxwell and George Elek, who host the NTT20 Podcast (which I highly recommend), give their views on our survival hopes going into the last two games.

Have to say that I like what these two say a lot of the time. They're not always right (nobody is) but their opinions always have good reasoning to them.

Personally I don't, there's not even a chance we stay up now, but this is worth posting to see what other people's opinions are:

I think we’re down after Monday but to run with the thread , if Coventry can beat Luton in the early game then I think we want derby to beat Hull. Puts derby safe but their last game is on paper, much easier than Hulls ( pompey away ). Derby home to Preston.

We need to wins. Strangely playing 2 teams who’ve just got rid of managers I think .

If Tan got rid of Riza post Luton we’d have been fine.

Still a decent chance we finish bottom of the league which was 16-1 about a month ago

I hope we lose on Saturday then it's done. The permutations to stay up are so remote. I don't want it to go to the last game against Norwich with us winning and Hull scoring a last minute equaliser to send us down on goal difference. No chance all the cards are going to fall for us! We've suffered enough. Go down start again. It's the only way and what's much more likely in my view is this time next year we'll all be excited about a promotion chase back to the Championship.

I’m hoping that we get to the Norwich game and still have a chance of staying up. :bluescarf:

Why do city fans want us to get relegated no matter the circumstances or reasons?

Theoretically speaking we could also finish above Oxford if they lose both and we win both. So a win and all our rivals lose (either one of Hull and Derby) we go into the final game potentially with a possibility of finishing 20th. Highly doubt it, but never say never.

I don't want to see City relegated, it breaks my heart. But what I want is for this horrible season to end now as quicky as possible. Clutching at staws of hope just adds to the agony. The positive part of me says this time next year we will all be excited chasing promotion back to the Championship. That's much more realistic.

Unfortunately you'll have to suffer with rest of us? :laughing6:

The negative part of me says back to back relegations! The whole club has been dragged through the cesspit by Tan's 10 year reign. Can't see it getting any better under him. Can only envisage an asset strip.

Riza had two wins since February and they take action with 3 games left. With this board we will not be chasing promotion it will be cost cutting and trying to stay in League one. The damage is massive and it’s all Tan and the two dickheads fault. The more I think about it I keep changing my mind about renewing. They don’t engage with us fans to try and let us know of the plans moving forward. Complete silence and disrespect. Clubs in a worse state than when Tan came in and he don’t give a fk.

Sadly, I think you might be right.
It's just dead at the CCS lately and it's all on the Emperor and his two lapdogs. A grim, dark place. It never used to be.

Massive dark clouds over us , we need answers as to why they stuck with Riza and how he got into the club in the first place, who gave him the coaching job. That appointment was the poison that took us down.

Atmosphere was half decent at times on Monday and good against the Jacks, but generally I agree.

Just feel like some of the life has been taken out of the fans this season.
