Ramsey made the same mistake as Riza

Tue Apr 22, 2025 6:09 am

Why did arran Ramsey take our striker off if he was injured fair enough if he wasn’t it was a bad decision to take Salech off the one player who could have got as a winning goal

There was two mistakes I felt became quite apparent early doors.

CoD needed to be chucked further forward as he was trying to make shit happen, and 2nd was Robertson wasn't the man to look for the flicks from Salach an he needed a second body up there. Shame Robinson is injured/sulking as he could well of had a field day yesterday against Oxford with the balls Salach was winning

Robinson is another player who always gets taken off as you said he would have had a field day yesterday

Imagine Bagan LB and O Dowda LM they could get a few crosses into Salech overlap each other

His first big mistake was selecting the team

So you would have preferred Riza stayed on?

Need to cut him some slack, he'd never managed a game at any level before yesterday.

That’s a pathetic response! Who else did we have and what if we’d won the game (as we really should have)? :?

Anyone laying blame at Ramsey for yesterday is crazy and doesn't understand football

They had limited time to work with the players but identified that the middle of our defence is soft as shit and for me yesterday we looked more solid than we have for a long time,

we defended well against a team known for throwing balls into the box at every opportunity something we have struggled with all season and we dealt with it comfortably and but for a world class goal would have come away with a 1-0 win

Let's cut them some slack and see what else they are able to work on with a whole week of training

Not arguing that point at all, As you said defensively was a massive improvement and especially as it was all within 48 hours. However, surely working week in week out for the season knowing playing a LB as a LB and LW as LW may prove to be a tactical masterpiece. Massive massive improvement though I felt compared to Riza so I'm hopeful that having a full weeks training and planning could yield points come next weekend :-D

I actually think we will win the last 2 games which is crazy as Ive been very pessimistic for a few months I just think it's to little to late.

I'm Confident if this change had been made after the Blackburn game we would have survived however that win sealed our fate as it bought riza more time

We had ample of chances to cross the ball in from out wide outside there area but instead we pass the f*cking thing back to a center half who then taps it back to our goalkeeper. I watched about 20 of them Vs Oxford rather than cross it in for a chance maybe.

It's embarrassing how many times we get out wide and do Jack shit with it with men in the box. Pathetic at it we are.

Bagan a few weeks back was putting a few lovely crosses in then he gets dropped I don’t get it .

We needed our striker to stay on the field surly he could see that Ramsey got enough experience as a player to see that strikers win games more so when it was one all I was fuming when salech was brought off he was giving them problems all day and he scored im not blaming Ramsey for anything I’m saying he made a big mistake in taking salech off and I can assure you I do understand football

Yea I 100% agree that we needed salech on the pitch and I think he would have scored the chance that went an inch over meites head

But I noticed about 5 minutes before he came off he rubbed his thigh a few times so I wondered if he might have take a little knock as he was constantly battling with the Oxford back line all game
