Nice words but as one of the few players with any value Tan will be looking to get Salech off the wage bill as a matter of urgency when we get relegated.

He'll be gone without a doubt, Championship scouts will have noticed him.

My only hope is that because he's got four years left on his contract there will be a decent fee.

But won't hold my breath with this board.

Then that would be madness as you would have to replace him. False economy. Everyone needs a goal scorer. And in a physical league 1 you need a big man up top.

Selling him will do nothing to mitigate losses we will concur If get relegated .. in fact he is the one player that city should keep at all cost simply because he'll be excellent striker in div 1 something we'll need if got any chance to get out of division

Agree. There’s loads that will be shifted and loads of wages to be saved before looking at Salech.

Problem is he's already an excellent striker at Championship level so how can we convince him to stay for at least one year in League One?

For his career, he'll want to play at the highest level.

I'd keep him at all costs because I think he gold dust but he might think otherwise if we go down - especially when his agent gets involved.

Recognising that to be the case imparts a level of knowledge that Tan just does not have.

Anything or anybody that can be sold and replaced by cheaper will be.

What’s that??? £500k!!!

C’mon now you know the board as well as we do, that’s realistic to them… but knowing them they’ll just tear up his contract and allow him to walk away

That's exactly what I'm scared of.

His potential is huge. Just said on another thread that he could easily score 20+ in a top six Championship team.

Got a bit to learn but he's only 23 and has taken to this league like a duck to water - which is rare for a foreign striker.

He will one day be PL quality, I really believe that.

Not comparing him to Gyokeres, but he was a striker who really hit his stride in the Championship for Coventry - now he's got the biggest clubs in the world queueing up.

Salech may not be that level, but he will be at PL level I believe.

But will tan be in charge as such next season? Dalman knows Salech worth for club selling him makes no financial or playing sense... go cheap and stay in div 1 or worse ......tan will be reeling from near £20m hit for relegation if it happens speculating to acumilate is only option if wants his money. Selling Salech is not the way to do it

I agree, I think he will be here come the new season; no matter which League we are in :ayatollah:

hope we manage to keep him. The way the club is run we need someone around here to give us CPR.

He seems a level headed guy.
Let’s hope he is the sort who would say to his agent ‘You know what, I like it here and I’m happy to stay another year and see what happens then’.

My feelings exactly.he does seem the sort to honour his contract

If you asked me the one player we need to keep in League One, is him. He will score 25+ in that division. Keeping him is our number one priority.

You. 100% agree
End of wba game we should sing ‘Youseff Salech, we want you to stay’.

Re: Yousef Salech says:

Its going to cost serious money to get him. Tan has held out for silly sums on a few of our kids if the rumours are to be believed.

If and its always an if with our history, we get a good coach and change the wide forwards to those who know what they are doing he could keep building that reputation.

Jesus, if this kid had nooney, Burke, Conway, he'd score basketfuls

Re: Yousef Salech says:

Tue Apr 22, 2025 9:39 am

The one player we need most, a physical hit man….no doubt the useless billionaire will sell him for whatever he can get and replace him with some lightweight…..honestly. Most important thing we can do this summer is get a new owner……without that we are going nowhere

Re: Yousef Salech says:

Tue Apr 22, 2025 9:42 am

He'll get sold.

An asset strip will have to happen.

What a shame as he's someone to build around. Not in L1 though. If he has ambition also he'd go. The club has failed him.

Re: Yousef Salech says:

Tue Apr 22, 2025 9:51 am

Keep at all costs salech will be a real asset to us next season!!!

Re: Yousef Salech says:

Salechs future will tell us alot about our clubs ambitions for next season.

Stay and I believe we are looking to bounce straight back up.

Sell him and it's obvious to anyone there is no ambition at the club.

Re: Yousef Salech says:

As crap as Riza was, we have him to thank for Salech.

Re: Yousef Salech says:

Tue Apr 22, 2025 2:35 pm

What worries me about him is that if we get a serious & good offer, he wants to go and then we say no not enough, we could end up with another KM situation, which helps nobody. I'm not saying he would be as bad, just that we don't know.

Would you be willing to take that risk if a good offer came in?

If a good offer came in I think we’d have to take it; particularly if from a good side; for the reasons you state. Loads of ifs and buts though. What if we keep him and for whatever reason, he doesn’t score many in league 1? The ‘asset’ will then be going down in value.
It’s certainly a tough one.

What an awesome footballer , awesome and kind guy he was straight in the crowd when there was a medical emergency against stoke with that fan. I wouldn’t blame him for leaving if the board don’t get there act together and employ the right manager and staff , he’s got massive potential and if the board keep going in the direction that they are he needs to leave for his own good.
