Football club owners seem to miss the biggest aspect of owning a football club. The fans.
Owners, managers and players come and go. Some end up with a legend status and some end up being known and remembered for the wrong reasons.
But one thing is obvious, players, managers, owners all decide to come to the club (or buy the club) for their careers. Especially in this day and age, apart from the very small minority, they aren’t here for the love of the club and a feeling towards the badge.
Us fans don’t choose a club. The club in engrained in us from a young age. We don’t change allegiance, it’s in our blood and our hearts.
We do what we do and say what we say with the best interests of the club at heart. It’s our club, why wouldn’t we?
All of the negativity that has been around these past few seasons, not just us, but at Kortrijk also, is for a reason. It’s because we have a mutual owner who does not care about our history, our fans, or the ambitions of the supporters.
The negativity is not hidden, and neither should it be.
How do we get Tan to really understand how the fans feel?
The demonstration was a small percentage of the people in the ground. Season tickets will still be bought, and of course we will still support the team - but there has to be a way to get all of the ‘concerns’ heard by Tan.
Not by Dalman and the car salesman, but by Tan himself.
