Mannsverk

Been extremely disappointed with him.

Saw him when he was younger for Molde in Norway.

But he's been really poor lately.

only as good as the players around you, well worth keeping if we can clear out the crap

Re: Mannsverk

Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:40 pm

He has been poor for a while He is a lower championship player at most from his performances at Cardiff Slow on the ball and does not create a great deal Disappointed like you with him

Re: Mannsverk

Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:48 pm

I must have been watching a different player because I thought he was the only one in midfield who was calm on the ball and wanted stuff to happen but there was no movement in front of him so had to resort to passing backwards or sideways

Re: Mannsverk

Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:49 pm

I thought he worked his socks off

The rest dreadful - what people see is Ashford is beyond me

Re: Mannsverk

MOM for me, he was outstanding along with Willock

I thought he was far too slow releasing the ball.

He has quality so he should know when to pass.

When there is no one giving you an option your hands are tied, I personally think he's a decent player in a shit squad and would flourish with quality around him

The only one I am disappointed in is Robertson. He has fallen into the second-half of the season city malaise.

Mannsverk would sit in any of the top 3's midfield as a starter, he has L1 (at best ) wingers and attacker midfeilders in front of him

Agree about Robertson. Looked good second half but went completely missing after half time, no surprise he came off. Probably would have started Turnbull ahead of him anyway.

He can't take set pieces either.

Unbelievable assessment from the OP.
He was probably MOM today.

The guys full of class.

The set pieces this year have been diabolical, and probably has had a big impact in our goal scoring capability. Ralls always has a couple of decent deliveries when he plays, but recently its been O'Dowda or Robertson and I don't think we've had one decent set pieces between them both.

Might have misjudged this going by the responses.

Probably just looking for someone to blame.

Re: Mannsverk

Our best player today but with no movement in front of him he has to check back and play the simpler pass

Re: Mannsverk

Crazy how quickly a player can be on the end of a ‘not good enough’ thread on here.

A few weeks ago, Mannsverk was being said to be ‘way above this level’ - now there’s a thread saying he’s not living up to expectations.

He worked his socks off today and was trying to get the crowd involved as well as putting himself about and playing with a passion that we haven’t seen many of our players play with this season.

Creative players with an eye for a pass can only really play their game and stand out if they have team mates around them who look for the ball in the areas that the ball should be going.

A prime Iniesta would look like he wasn’t up to much with this team and lack of movement.

To be fair, I didn't say he wasn't good enough. I do believe he's good enough.

He just hasn't offered enough for whatever reason.

I agree. Best player in the middle (both teams)

Re: Mannsverk

I thought he played well, not sure if Turnbull is 100% fit but he's a better option in the middle than Robertson. Robertson isn't a 10

With you on both points. Mannsverk is obviously a classy player. I keep seeing Ashford as lazy or not interested. Not sure which it is. Either way he drifts out of more games than not.

Ashford doesn’t possess a great deal of talent imo. Certainly nowhere near championship standard.

A good player without doubt but wasted with this squad.

Re: Mannsverk

Tue Apr 22, 2025 8:59 am

I thought Ronomhota and Mannsverk gave us a really good platform yesterday, the 3 in front of them are not good enough at this stage in their careers.

Re: Mannsverk

He hasnt improved us. The points return kills all opinion.

Some said we wouldnt afford him, I'd say we didnt need him.

Has looked pretty on the eye at times but not much else.

Re: Mannsverk

He Was all action think problem was when he did pass wide there was no quality in the delivery of crosses so looked worse than he actually was..one to be kept next season

He's on loan. He wont be back.

That was the problem. He was the best player in midfield (both sides) and a real quality player that’s far too good for us.

It’s all about opinion, Ned

I didn’t think we had an ‘outstanding’ player but I did think Ashford and (when he came on) Rubin were massively disappointing!
