16 years ago my football-loving 8-year-old daughter came back from Pontyclun Primary with a voucher for a free ticket and an adult for a quid. She loved it and became a season ticket holder for the next 15 years. She laughs at me when i say i am not going next season, she is.
100% mate. I have a young daughter now who plays football with boys and girls. She is the only one in a Cardiff kit and one of her teammates used to love Cardiff too but his dad takes great pleasure in gloating how he has "converted" him into a gooner now. This guy was born in Cardiff and lived here all his life by the way!! Don't get me wrong he has probably enjoyed his season more than me haha, but that is part and parcel of supporting your local team. We are close to losing another generation of kids to the big clubs so incentives like this do work. It can make the difference, as a kid I liked Liverpool (parents weren't in to football) as they were on tv. But once I went to my first home game at Ninian Park that was it for me, absolutely hooked. Being there in person, your local team.... as crap as a season we have had I wouldn't swap it for being a glory fan ever.
