How will Ramsey set up

Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:22 pm

We have played people out of position for quite a while, and have used inverted wingers a lot.

We have been afraid of putting balls into the box and tend to play with a lack of urgency and desire.

I can’t see Ramsey playing the same style of football or formation - but how will he set us up?

The players will be behind him, the fans will be behind him, and he knows what this means to the club.

I hope that we play to our strengths with Ramsey aiming to play a bit more direct.

It’s a great question. I have no idea, I think he may keep to similar formation but use the right players in the right place and be more attack minded. the hardest thing is he has next to no time to work with his team has he even had a training session do you know?

I feel they will chase and hunt down Oxford and press higher

I agree. Think he hinted at that in his interview. Will be good to see. :bluescarf:

I’m sure if he had more time he would try to play a passing and high press game but he’s got to be pragmatic and just play a formation to win 3 games regards of the actual performance

I’m really not sure what formation that will be but I’m sure Rallsy will have a big say in team selection

I will be fascinated to see if Callum Robinson is involved.

Is he genuinely injured or are the rumours of a bust up true?

If he is capable of playing a part does Rambo feel that he can trust Robbo to put in the sort of performances we're going to need from him over the next three games?

Be really interesting, has he even completed his badges yet? I hope not, as they are all infected by the Pep virus when they emerge with their "A" then Pro licence.

Like everyone i have no idea

We need more in your face approach we give teams to much time on ball when we get it’s very slow and easy to defend the press takes a while to master what Rambo will want is a much higher tempo for definite and to get the ball into wide areas and to put the ball in the box at every opportunity possible cos that’s we’re salech is at his best any knock downs we need to be first

Has to be a high press, get balls out wide and out crossing into the box for Salech with whoever is playing midfield breaking into the box too

Limited time to implement tactics but agree with others, wouldn't be surprised to see a high press.

Club are expecting a big walk up and I can see him going with a high energy line up that will feed off the crowd.

Getting the first goal would be key, that goes without saying obviously.
