OXFORD MONDAY : Oxford Utd are exactly the opp

OXFORD MONDAY :

Oxford Utd are exactly the opposite of what we are .

The sum of the whole is much better than their sum as individuals !! Individually we should be comfortably beating Oxford .

To demonstrate what I mean - just take 3 of our “REJECTS” …literally rejects ….not good enough for us … namely Joe Bennet , Will Vaulks and Mark Harris .

All of them will figure in Oxford’s team on Monday .

What characterizes those players ? They are goddamn honest players who will work their bollocks off every time .

Do we have better players in their positions ?

…yes ! It’s a question of attitude and application .

There is one Oxford player that I really like and who I believe may have a good future …. Tyler Goodrahm .

He plays wide on the left . (He may be carrying a slight knock ).

Plachetta the Polish player (an ex Swan) played right wing vs Leeds yesterday - he is left footed and tends to cut in rather than run the line .

He can be a danger - but I hear he is inconsistent .

One good thing is that Oxford will be missing their influential captain Elliot Moore - a C1/2.

I'm expecting them to beat us comfortable like 0-3 and that will be the catalyst for things to get very toxic.

If this happens and all results go against us we will be in with a chance of avoiding relegation but the optimistics amongst us will be identifable by them wearing the white goats ready to be taken away.

Harris won’t be in the starting line up I don’t think.

Ciaran Brown is another. Oxford player of the season pretty much. Another who got the boo boy treatment from the Cardiff fans and became a scapegoat.

Cardiff fans really have to look at themselves as well. They don’t provide an environment that gives confidence to players.

That's because we are all clueless, right? Ridiculous comment to make about the fans. If Oxford had the same 4 years of mostly fighting relegation they'd be the same. City fans have actually been incredibly patient this year and only now are we protesting and rightfully angry. Oxford will go down next year. Small time club punching above their weight thus year, let's see what their fans a like next spring.

Annis, what you say is true but you could also have mentioned that they have a manager (Rowett) who knows the championship inside out. If he had got the job here when Bulut was sacked we would be comfortable in mid table by now.

No not clueless, just fickle fans who don’t get behind the players like they should.

This isn’t the last four years it’s for a significant time amount of time. Murphy was one. Players don’t get confidence from playing in front of the home fans. Away a different story.

Id take those 3 players any day into our squad to be honest. Always 100% from them. Still can't believe we are where we are in league mind.

Not sure if you were one of the posters who said they would go down this year or not but small time club punching above their weight?

Patronising much?

Tbf Mac, Brown was awful during his time with us.

On paper Cardiff defensive midfielders are better than Vaulks maybe but him and Brannagan dovetail really well together. Watch out for Matos as well. Class.

Cardiff’s midfield doesn’t have any bite. Need two holding midfielders really. Teams walk through our midfield.

Bennett has been injured a lot of the season but I think he’s a better left back than O’Dowda.

Salech is a better 9 than Harris but Robinson isn’t.

Brown is better than any Cardiff centre back.

And there is the problem, we seem to dislike the workhorses and effort players . The list is endless.

Sorry to point out the Championship is a workhorse big effort league with a smattering of skilled players.

Warnock has proven that over and over again .

The trick is when you get up then you apply different methods.

The players we “rejected” just didn’t do enough while here. I’d say the only exception was Vaulks, he would give you a consistent performance every week with the odd world class long distance goal. Not sure we’ve had someone since he left who can strike the ball the way he did.

Harris was a worker, he’d run, cause problems, but missed a lot of chances. I actually liked Harris as a squad player, but a club hoping to succeed and not just survive need better options. Same with Brown, overlooked by a lot of managers, dropped down a league and seems to have improved a bit, but is he a player you want when you’re fighting to win or when you’re looking to be comfortable being the lead team?

Bennet was good, getting on now though and left with a lengthy time out and horrendous injury, nobody knew how he would return if ever the player he once was

Haven’t seen Brown lately I would guess??

He has improved a lot. Totally comfortable with him being centre back or left back when trying to defend a lead. He’s a warrior for Oxford.

I’m pleased for him that he’s doing well but I don’t think anyone shed a tear when he left Cardiff. Tbf he was played at left back and left centre back and looked dodgy in both positions.
This happens, a player moves and does well or the opposite.
