Attendances next season if relegated

Fri Apr 18, 2025 2:52 pm

I understand we sold around 12,500 to 13,000 season tickets for this season with an average attendance of 18,900 to date.

If relegated, as expected, I cannot see us selling more than 9,000 season tickets for next season, with attendances averaging under 14,000, unless we end the rot immediately and become a top six team early on.

In a stadium of capacity exceeding 33,000, the number of blue (and red) seats will easily outnumber those seats occupied during most matches!
This would be a depressing sight and something we have yet to experience in the current Cardiff City stadium! :banghead:

The atmosphere would suffer massively. I think we’d all have to either decide, and coordinate to pack the Canton out or pack the Ninian Stand out.

Give the fans the grange end back next to the away fans. The longer the board runs the club like this it’s going to get emptier and emptier .

I actually think a successful season with us fighting it out at the top of league 1 would see better attendances than a season struggling in the championship

However chances of that happening with the clowns still running the show is not very likely

I'm wondering whether the club may consider closing the current family stand and relocating families in the lower grandstand.
Whatever they choose, the ground will seem very sparce of supporters!

I am one of those that buys a CCTV season pass every year as I live in the States. Every year I think it will be the last time I buy one, but every year I get sucked back in based on the summer transfer season and the 'promising' vibes coming from the rest of you on this site. Eventually, I look forward to the start of the season with anticipation but, within a few weeks, I start to regret my purchasing decision as we look like a team bereft of ideas.

All the games that are chosen for Sky Sports are not broadcast by CCTV in the USA which means an extra fee to watch them on Paramount+ tv. Today's game was one of those. I am now seriously wondering if the only way I can acknowledge the crap that has been served up by Mr. Tan & his board is to just refuse to pay another penny to watch his team. Don't be fooled. It is HIS team. He owns CCFC and is going nowhere until he has taken us down to the depths of the footballing world. No one in their right mind is going to pay him 200 million. He won't sell for less. It's all a question of honor and saving face in his country.
