Sheffield United have lost their last three

Wed Apr 16, 2025 12:07 pm

Having been in a good position for automatic promotion, Sheffield United have lost their last three games, leaving them in third - five points behind both Burnley and Leeds with four games to go.

Two of those defeats were against relegation candidates, Oxford and Plymouth.

They will still hope to get automatic promotion, with their crucial game away at Burnley on Monday giving them a possible chance to close the gap.

Sadly if we lose, even winning the next 3 may not be enough.

3 wins should be enough as others playing each other but can't see past 1 win thats possibly Oxford but wouldn't bet house on it.

We play later than the other clubs around us on Friday - Oxford play Leeds later ...We need to get something from this game.

I can see it coming down to 2 from 3 dropping from us, Derby and Luton. I cant see us staying up but Derby play Luton earlier. If Luton lose at Derby they will probably go down and we will need to get something to keep in touch with the rest. If Luton get something, which I hope they do, we ideally need to get something but as an absolute minimum we need to ensure we don't get a stuffing as at the moment we have a slight better goal difference than them. That will leave us with at least a chance of staying up with 2 wins
