" A massive massive win "

Sat Mar 15, 2025 4:57 pm

That is a massive win, finally another away win. With the other results, a game we had to win too.

Two good headers by Salech and Meite, brilliant crosses by Mannsverk and Alves too.

But we did make it hard for ourselves by inviting the pressure against a Blackburn team low in confidence.

Every time we attacked them, they panicked - so it's a bit annoying we didn't attack them more, would have been a much more comfortable afternoon.

It wasn't a brilliant performance but it's a big big win, that's what matters. I'll take points over performances until the end of the season.

My MOTM was Will Fish.

Fish was quality.

Meite as a match winner though, Riza master stroke. Not one of us would have called that. Credit where its due

Spot on. He needs a proper run off games, and the support other unproven underperforming players have had this season. He is an asset if we can get the best out of him.

So frustrating great win today but only made good the damage on Tuesday? If won that we'd be 70% safe today but upwards and onwards it shows riza/players can get it right .. gives hope for rest season

I dont agree, based on the rest of his Cardiff Citt career... but was the match winner today when we needed a hero.

Fantastic win today never expected that well done to all players involved.
The way the bottom section of sides are picking up points even the Jacks are not safe yet.
Hopefully roll on now from this excellent result.

Been saying it since Salaech joined, just get balls in the box to him and play Rob/ash/Davies off him

Problem is riza normally plays him wide which is pointless other than he hazzles defenders... played central today and that was a class header.... if you look at last 4 games we've scored or come close from class crosses but that is one thing we are reluctant to do with any frequency..

A battling but certainly not pretty second half performance secured the points. Not a great performance but it's results that matter.

Fish was awesome at the back. He has to have a run of games now.

He's had plenty of opportunity up top, also. If he's the solution after todays goal, then we're in trouble. Salech is first choice. I'd have Meite 4th or 5th, regardless of this goal.

Be nice for him to get more from his cameos from now till end of the season: I cant see it though.

Huge win, especially with Derby also winning again.

2 great crosses for the goals and thankfully the assistant linesman overturned the awful decision by the ref for the penalty.

Delighted for Meite.

Will Fish MOTM for me, best centre back at the club.

No where near the solution! just pointing out scores brilliant header because he was central contrary to his normal out wide position...... having plenty of opportunities playing wide is not same as playing as a central striker his natural position ... as we've seen for years we've done this and ruined the player ...... Salech as changed the dynamics of our strikers they play centrally and you give them crosses we score not rocket science..

The cross was quality, mind. We dont put many of those in the box very often. I'd be annoyed if that cross didnt end up with something on target.

But as I said, credit to Meite, he had to dispatch and did. A great header.

Huge win and nice to get it before the international break. Stating the obvious but this has to be a start of a run. We can't afford same pattern of win 1 lose the next 3.

Target still has to be Swansea, Oxford, Portsmouth etc. If we finish above Derby and Stoke we'll stay up.

We still got 8 games left which are all cup finals, lets all get behind the team and hopefully we will come out of this mess ok.

I’m with you mate as most city fans are. Would be great if everyone could.
Great post. By the way.

Full credit to Riza for turning this around. He deserves credit as well as criticism when it’s due.

I didn’t see the game but a massive win.

Huge win. No one predicted that. Riza's just saved his job until May.

Plymouth aside, totally impossible to predict who will go down.

In fairness, I also said in my original post that it wasn't a brilliant performance.

But I'll happily take points over performances until the end of the season.

The biggest thing about yesterday was Riza’s substitutions? Before them we was not going to win game in fact Blackburn looked more likely..... but the subs gave us more pace and attacking options something we don't normally have with Riza’s substitutions .... normally it's more a defensive strategy.....
