5 managers that in my opinion could be great for us

Thu Mar 13, 2025 12:36 pm

okay some of these r a bit out there but its my opinion
as a coach myself its so hard to watch cardiff atm we look so dire and have no direction or ambition
at this football club. the way we play is very hard to watch. no winning duels or any second balls no defensive structure

everyone is saying lets get big sam or warnock but they r down as managers they r past this game now i get they r good at saving teams but just to old to manage at this level.

no particular order
1. david wagner/ left norwich in the summer he is a great manager/ coach and i think he would keep us up

2. wilfried nancy/okay this is a bit out there but ive been tracking him for some time as the columbus crew manager and i have to say he seems like a great manager but there is no chance we r steering him away from mls with there money

his record is great though

3. steve cooper/ again i know he rejected us but i just think he would be so good for us forget about swansea links i really dont care i think he would save us

4.rob edwards/ my only concern is with him will he be able to come back this quick to management im guessing no. the welsh link helps but again all of these r unlikey just ideas and opionions.

5.oscar garcia/ he shows fight and desire manage some top teams just left chivas in mexico. again unlikey

please dont come for me with these i just wanted to share my ideas.
we r probably not going to stay up so half of these would be out of the pitchure

im all of riza out
i watched blackburn last night and they were not great so lets try and get behind the boys and thats get a crucial win

Appreciate that you’ve said they are only your opinions, but only really Edward’s on that list would be remotely possible.

Bilic was being mooted for a while, still wouldn't be against that.

Not sure Wagner is the answer, Norwich fans wanted him out because he was too defensive - so our fans would have a problem with that.

Edwards not a bad shout. Fell apart for him at Luton but he's a decent manager.

No problem with your choices apart from No 2, he's no experience of the championship (sounds familiar) also they'd all want a 2-3year contract which Tan wont give, that's why we are in this mess.

One of the biggest assumptions made by fans is that managers who are not at a club are unemployed. Very few are fully paid up, most are just paid as normal until the contract end or they leave. How many are still being paid and we stop that for 2 months?

Forget about Cooper but unsure what club O'Neil wants, could be a possibility.

Bilic was my preference when Bulut went and still is.

Like most, I want Riza out asap but I think it’s going to be really difficult to bring in a decent manager on a contract that includes next year due to the precarious position we’re in right now.

Also the few available could well still be tied up in contracts from previous clubs.

If only we’d spent the extra and moved for a manager - as there were a few available then - straight after Bulut was sacked!!

There are plenty of decent managers out there. A lot are simply waiting for the right position to come up and the rest would probably not want to work under Tan. If he wants a good manager then give him an incentive. A contract plus a nice bonus if we stay up this season. Might make the job seem more attractive.
