One of the Best / Atmosphere / Derby Games / BUT

I was at Red Star Belgrade v Partizan Belgrade yesterday and saw the first penalty in 22 years finally awarded to Partizan in the last minute to get a 3-3 draw against runaway leaders Red Star.

From the moment I arrived on Friday in Belgrade to be met at the airport by my very good friend Uros.

My 5th Visit I was once again greeted with the best welcome and hospitality you could ever get from My Partizan Belgrade Friends:



2,800 Police were on Duty in and outside ground / 0ver 150 Riot Vans


BUT:

Red Star have virtually already Won the League, so I will say not the best atmosphere I’ve seen there.

Still good, but it was more about pride as this over all has been a dreadful season for Partizan.

As usual everywhere Jamie my brother in law and I went we were hugged and bought drinks and asked about Cardiff City.

The Big day came on Saturday:

Breakfast, was not hungry after previous night lol , so it was Coffee , Coffee, followed by a long long walk through a Forest .

We went to Partizan stadium first for an interview with their Club which will be out next month.

Then off to Red Star Stadium where usually 60,000 Crowd, today was only 32,610, they’ve even 100,000 in the past.

Last year it was over 60,000.

So way quieter than usual, but still amazing:

It was freezing, and everyone was expecting a hammering by Red Star.

So at one stage a shock was on the cards as Partizan took an early lead
