Omer Riza on Aaron Ramsey playing today and NO More

Sat Feb 15, 2025 5:03 pm

Omer Riza:

“ No more two games a week for Aaron.”

"Aaron was ready to play," as he was asked why Ramsey was on the bench against Bristol City.

"He played in the Stoke game, which was his first game back. He didn't play at Portsmouth because he can't, and probably ain't ever going to go Saturday/Tuesday that’s to much for him .”

"So playing Saturday to Saturday is something that will probably happen with Aaron but today was just selection and was my decision.”

"I knew what he'd give us coming onto the pitch when the game opened up a little bit and he did that. So that was very pleasing for me. Aaron was probably disappointed he wasn't playing.”

"But again, it's how you deal with disappointment and he dealt with it really well. He came on and showed character, leadership and quality to boot."

“Over all we played well and got a deserved point.”

I agree with this.

Bulut made Ramsey play 90 minutes, even when we were losing 2-0 and the game was gone.

It was awful mismanagement of his fitness.

Have him play once a week for 30-45 minutes from the bench and he can have an impact like today.

But I still wouldn't renew his contract unless he accepts a cut in money. Paid too much to just be a bit part player.

Agree also but as he eases himself back into full match fitness I think he can play 70 - 90 minutes once a week.

Regards to a contract, it depends what salary he’s on but I’d wait and see if he stays injury free until the season ends.

I read someone on here said he should play for 90 minutes every game or some such shite!

At least start him he’s one of your best players if you going to only play him when we chasing the game then pointless using him if he plays 45 mins and we lead by a goal or two before he goes off then it’s worth starting him at end of the day what have you got to lose by not starting him? Riza needs to go asap he’s out of his depth

Playing at home is the most sensible thing to do simply because be far more effective than playing away when every team uses more defensive tactics which is not rambo's fortè.... many managers leave out players to suite circumstances away from home

He was game changing yesterday; but I still dont think he's a starter in this dog fight. Off the bench, absolutely.

Lets not get carried away over the short term.
