I was alarmed to see..

...how often particularly in the second half at set pieces that Stead was being marked by Naylor.

Now apart from being about six inches shorter than Stead, Naylor is hardly a great header of the ball and it was more luck than judgement that we weren't punished.

It's not the first time a similar thing has happened. I seem to recall Darcy Blake having to mark Howard last season in the play off semi and that was also a bit of a mismatch.

This is not a direct criticism of Hudson ( more an indirect criticism) but I would have thought that as captain and one of the tallest defenders he should take responsibility for marking the oppositions tallest striker.

He never seems to do so.

Any thoughts as to why?

Because he's a shit captain!

I know that Stead didn't score the first goal, but did anybody else notice that Chopra marked Stead for their first goal? :o

We played too deep during the second half in particular, which allowed their midfield to push on and rain a few shots at our goal, which they wouldn't have been able to do, had Hudson pushed the defence further upfield!

Personally, I feel that Hudson likes to play deep, because he and Gyepes lack any pace! :ayatollah:
