An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

Tue Nov 26, 2024 9:37 am

In the last few years I know of 3 Different potential buyers who have tried to buy Cardiff City.
Even Chairman Dalman admitted we had offers.

4th potential buyer

A couple of months ago an American Company contacted our hierarchy and after several weeks walked away as they could not negotiate with us.

Apparently our debt for what we they are asking is way over the Valuation.

I know this to be true as the person who introduced them is a big name in Wales / England and a good friend of mine.
They believe £50 mill and taking on our High Debts is Fair.

I have to agree.

Our Club needs a New Owner ASAP & has done for years.

A proper manager and Cardiff City would be packed and rocking.

A new owner, a manager like Steve Cooper, Mark Robins ,Sean Dyche or Nigel Clough etc etc

How long is tan going to hold on to us ? I thought once this sala affair and court cases are cleared up things would happen,
but it seems he is happy to ignore all offers until it suits him which sadly,
we could be in the doldrums for years,

Its so depressing watching other clubs that we where playing a few years ago moving on while we are dragging along the bottom of the sea with a very large anchor holding us down,
we are like the titanic a once beautiful think now forgotton about and left to rot.

As you know Monty,

Tan said we would be Debt Free with in 5 yrs, Now 15 yrs and it’s increased.
Plus Remember they blamed the Langston Court Case and said once finished, well that’s years ago.

The Sala Saga is just an excuse.

Tan does not want us, but wants £200 Mill, Madness.

Both him and Dalman keep saying they have a plan in place and the future lol

We have struggled for years now and only gone backwards.

Sadly your right its so bloody frustrating.
I watched newcastle v west ham last night and was thinking,
we beat west ham a few years back gave them hell of a game and remember some of there fans coming into the canton cross before the game and they where straight back outside again,
i was outside drunking and they said i think we chose the wrong pub there,
even that has gone these days no exitment or adrenaline before a match sadly.

Annis, why after 12-14 years of owning our club Tan would be happy just to see us treading water is beyond me. I agree with everthing you have just said about new owners and a top manager, we could be flying. I would also like to see some of these potential new owners go public and call Tan out for what he his.

Let's hope one of us fans wins a substantial amount on the Euro Millions. I'd offer him a 100 mil to leave immediately :bluescarf:

Re: An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

I do wonder if Tan will come to regret not accepting these bids in a few years time.

He wants £200m but the truth is we are not worth that, people can buy clubs in a much better state with that money.

Re: An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:25 am

It does not take some financial wizard to know we are not worth £200m. £50m plus taking us on as an ongoing concern is about right from what I am being told.

I just don't understand what Tan is playing at. The only advantage with him is he is still rich enough to keep thetaxman away. After that I struggle to think what there is.

Re: An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

As a senior city fan :old: , we saw the same in the early seventies
We missed relegation for 3 consecutive years , even down to last games requiring a point.
We eventually went down, came straight back up then we had the Leonards after the great Bob Grogan which saw us become 4th tier club until Sam came in here.
Until Tan is gone, we will never achieve anything and will eventually be relegated, it should have happened 2 years ago after the Reading points reduction.

Re: An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:43 am

I cannot get my head around why Tan is still here. We're operating at a loss, so you'd think you either a) invest or b) sell... we seem to be c) nothingness but costing a fortune out of Tan's pocket.

Re: An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:54 am

Why didn't Tan sell us on gaining promotion? He got greedy and wanted more. He may regret thst

Re: An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

His valuation has to be taking into any potential monies due to the Sala case. Anyone would be mad to gamble on that being successful so until the case is settled we are stuck with Tan.

Re: An American Company interested in Cardiff City:

We are losing money year on year, scrimping on managers and players, along with in a relegation fight for the last three seasons.

As it stands we are nothing more than a (at best) mid table championship team, with dwindling support and a board that don’t know their arse from their elbow.

Tan is a businessman, a successful one, so I can not for the life of me figure out how he comes to a 200m valuation.

Even without the debt we wouldn’t be worth 200m.

Is watford worth £150m? That's what owner wants

That offer appears more than fair.

If our debts to VT are £150m, and the new owners are willing to take these on, it means VT will get £150m back irrespective

If we are also offering £50m then VT gets his full £200m

Overpriced but if that is what is being offered.

Paul,

That’s why it does not add up?

If we are losing money you cut your losses if you have NO interest which he does not.

You’re only worth what someone will pay and it’s been 5 years now and NO one has come even near £200mill.

Sam Offered £100Mill as he wanted to fulfil the Dream that he always wanted to do m, take us to The Premier and keep us their until he was Totally Stabbed in the back by those close to him.

Thats the biggest offer we have been offered.

Americans £50 Mill

A Consortium from London £30 Mill

Slightly confused......

Does Tan want £200M up front AND leave the debt with the new owners?

Or does Tan want £200M and leave the new owner with NO debt?

If it is the latter then surely it is just a case of how the deal is set out.

If the offer is £50M and take on a debt that will be paid off over 25 years, then you can understand Tan's reticence

To leave the club totally debt free its 200 million

There is no way Tan would potentially lose 150 million , if the new owners went into administration like Portsmouth done he would lose his money ,this 50 million offer is pie in the sky tbh , I know people want to get rid of Tan but it's better the devil you know sometimes .sams offer was better tbh

Probably the way they want to purchase club? Only need to look at other club sales to see that it's never straight forward? All well good making an offer its another thing making it acceptable to owners

I like most other City fans have absolutely no idea what Tan is up too

Owning the club (business) is costing him £12 million a year, most of the fans (customers) hate him, he never comes to watch the team so must get virtually no pleasure out of owning us

He has no plan whatsoever to improve the team or reduce the annual loses…I just don’t get why he still wants to own the club it makes no sense whatsoever!!

Of course it doesn't make sense to us fans but it obviously does to him no matter what we think. :old:

Paul like everyone else Sais he needs to go but he is not keeping hold of club for the fun of it because its an expensive way of getting his laughs..... despite what we think he as his reasons for keeping club until he gets what "HE" wants unfortunately for us fans
