Turnbull

Considering he’s been overlooked for so long I thought he was excellent alongside Robertson today. Has to keep his place.

Totally agree. I thought it was too attacking to play both Turnbull and Robertson but delighted to be wrong.

Turnbull really proved he deserved to start and Robertson excellent again.

Like several others, looked a different player post Bulut

Robertson is such a good all round footballer it means we CAN play Turnbull with him. Both dovetailed so well today and our passing was taken up a level. We controlled the game without needing a destroyer there. Turbull, like Robbo. Colwill. Robertsons. Tanner we all treated abysmally. They are vastly better footballers than those being automatically selected or picked and flogged.

It’s no wonder we are playing well because those guys have been given the managers faith.

Don’t think he’s got enough of the plaudits today 61 touches today and 53 passes with an accuracy of 96% in only 61 minutes. Fantastic, like Robertson happy to take the ball under pressure and not lose it. Found his position.

That’s impressive. Always made himself available for the sensible pass

I have been critical of his attitude but he was spot on today. Did all the simple things very well and you need players like that.

Goes to show how bad man management was with Bulut. The players look a different breed today

Re: Turnbull

We’ve been trying to play him at 10 but he is much better deeper to affect the game and he does have a goal in him.

I think him, Robertson and Ramsey when fit are those midfielders going forward. And you know what Rinomhota never lets us down.

He was brilliant yesterday and him and Robertson seem to compliment each other , he was brilliant for celtic so it goes to show that bulut didn't know how to play him .

Gk and 4 at the back (5), plus the 3 in midfield and Colwill (4) leaves one striker and one winger

I think he meant that two out of the three of Robertson, Turnbull and Ramsey will be the ones playing in thr deeper midfield roles

He's what's known as a footballers footballer. He's worth investing in

Big critic of him under Bulut. Though I now think that was down to Bulut as it was him. Has an opportunity with a new gaffer and new philosophy, he has to take it and show his quality. I so hope he does! A good start on Saturday, lets see him and Robertson gel hopefully as the heart of our midfield after years of Ralls Wintle Siopis Rhino Sawyers Pack etc playing defensive midfield football. Front foot Turnbull and we know he has a shot in him too

Is he the new ‘magic hat’ owner?
Thought I heard it sung on Saturday

Yeah it was sung, I hope he realised as that will do his confidence the world of good.

Last time I saw him under Bulut there was a definite lack of confidence there, he looked out of sorts. Well done to Riza for giving the opportunity to him on Saturday, he did well, I hope its the same line up tonight, I quite like the idea of a mobile midfield partnership of Turnbull and Robertson

Under Bulut in one game, he was constantly looking to the sky when the ball kept going backwards

Re: Turnbull

I think its a clean slate with all the players for the last 12 months.

Bulut wanted to pull teams apart through a slow systematic passing game, but the hyper-fit championship players were more dominant than our technical ability, i doubt Fenebache could do that for a season either if they were dropped into the championship, its a failed experiment.

The repurposing of Turnbull is interesting. Ralls is the closest thing you get to an enforcer nowadays, I doubt Gunnar would get away with what he did 5 years ago tonight, the game is changing. No doubt he is a tough lad so a very technical 8 to go with our technical 6 and 10, with willing runners is the recipe for the future. Only just realised he is just 25 !!!!!

I am happy, you can see he is a footballer, if El Garzi can find some form we have the making of a team who will out-score you, with less emphasis on the clean sheet.

Brilliant tonight.

Our level dropped when he went off.

Like a new signing.

Always knew there was a player there. Celtic didn’t sign him for shits and giggles.
