THE PRESS' RELATIONSHIP WITH CARDIFF FANS

Fri Oct 15, 2010 8:57 am

The lastest story regarding the train incident appears to have sensationalised what actually happended , and it will be interesting to see the full outcome.

This is nothing new though as many of us fans will know. I remember a match against Newport County. Their chairman at the time paid for a new fence in the away end ( railway terrace ) for the visit of Cardiff. He boasted that it would stop a herd of elephants.

Unfortunatley , some Cardiff supporters took this quote as a challenge and there was minor damage. The echo on the monday headlined "Cardiff fans with wire cutters destroy new £50,000 fence"

What a load of rubbish.

They headlined a similar story when we played Stoke. A lad drove to the match in his works fan which had a Saw in the back. I think you can work out the headline.

can you think of others ?

They have at times praised our fans. I remember when some of our fans rescued a couple from a vehicle somewhere. (I think it was Corky's coach???) :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: I think it's just a case of "any story is a story" for the sake of newsprint. The difference being, that the darker side of football makes more impact with sales. :( :(

The eggo is a shit paper and nobody buys it anyway. The reason why CCFC gets all the shit headlines is that there are shedloads of egg reporters who work for the paper, feck knows why.

We all know that nobody plays or watches the crappy sport at club level so they all do there best to stop City by printing totally negative pieces on us whenever possible, because they all know that WHEN not if City get into the EPL the egg will die in Wales apart from those sad, fat old birds in smelly fake Welsh tops showing the nation up on telly.

Plus we also know that there are about 50-60 arrests in Cardiff alone on Rugby international days.On top of that we have all the rugby wives up the Heath A&E after they get their regular battering off their rugby husbands after yet another Wales egg defeat. :old:
