So far, the signings we've made and the players we've been linked with are in my opinion some (not all) of the best signings made over the last few years
So I've had a look back to see some of the 'not so good' years and have found that Russell Slade made 17 signings whilst with us
Malone
Revell
Peltier
Okeefe
Doyle
McAleny
Kennedy
Ajayi
Ameobi
Saadi
Weymans
Tamas
Blaise
Watt
Immers
Zohore
Lawrence
Looking at the list, only 2 or 3 were actually successful!

I agree with you regarding this years signings but Slades signings werent bad considering the situation we were in. He was a very strange appointment but I think he has been unfairly judged. He had to try and sort out the mess Ole had made. Ole spent all the money and nothing was left. He managed to improve results in his first season and in his only full season we were only one game away from the play offs, we finished 8th. Most of the above were moved on soon after he left but he did a job and whilst i was glad he was gone he didnt do a bad job.

An absolute clusterfuck of a manager!!

I guess I wasn't saying Slade was a bad manager as such but that period of time for the club in my opinion was one of the worst
Just relegated from the Premier League, lost a few of our better players (Mutch, Kim etc)
Cutting costs at every turn in regards to trimming the already threadbare squad
The worst moment was when we loaned out our top scorer Jones when we were not too far off the play offs
Then we loaned out Connolly who at the time was one of our main defenders
It was to do with mid season cost cutting and that really felt like we were spiralling
They both ended up with promotions I think with Bournemouth and Watford?

We were under an embargo. Maximum wage we could pay was £12.5 k a week. We couldn't buy players.

Of those players, only Peltier and Zohore (for a bit) did very well.
Ajayi didn’t do much for us but went on to do very well elsewhere.
