iPhone Jailbreak.... for those of you with

iPhone 3G or 3GS (or lower) who want to be able to Jail Break your iphones the simple way, which will give you access to the CYDIA store (similar to that of itunes but nearly EVERYTHING is free to download) simply lauch Safari on your iphone and go to www.jailbreakme.com and slide the slider where it says "jailbreak me" over. allow for the firmware to install - usually about 10-15 mins. once it is complete - your phone will be jail broken and you will then see cydia app on your home screen. from cydia - you can install winterboard, and SB settings and toggles from the store - to change the appearance, themes, add music and tones including sms alerts etc etc, and many more amazing apps there for you free of charge! there are also ways to the UNLOCK your jailbroken phone to any network using the mentioned websites below.....

if you want to know more about this before you do it - then you can check out cydia and redmond pie on facebook groups, to keep you up to date. and also www.modmyi.com will keep you informed of all the best Apps and settings available.

remember - this will not work on any iphones running on software later than 4.0.1 or iphone 4!
to add cydia to other iphones using a different method - you will find all the info on the above mentioned redmond pie website and facebook.

Your info is slighlty out of date mate. The latest software is 4.1 which most people would be on so the jailbreak software they need for that is either limera1n or greenp0ison.

If your on software version 4.1 there is no unlock available to open it up to any network at the moment.

all you need is limera1n. really easy process. Start the limera1n.exe, and it gives you all the info. I did my iphone 4 on monday. all fine. once you get it i can recommend sbsettings as the first thing you download. Best app ever. if you have any problems pm me.

I didn't mention anything about software versions for unlock! i said i MIGHT be able to do it for Baz. (depending if he hasn't already connected it to itunes and updated it recently!) as for the Jailbreakme.com - it does work because i have used it many times - but you have to be on 4.0.1 or lower for it to work and it does NOT work for iPhone 4.

Can i please also advise anyone WHO DOESNT KNOW what they are doing with jailbreaking/unlocking iphones - to NOT play with it - you will soon end up messing the OS up on your iPhone and render it unuseable! thanks.

You need to make sure that you first download "Winterboard" from cydia - to be able to apply all the features you want.

Winterboard is like the control center for all your customisations.

Had 4 16gb now got 5s 32gb neither has ever been JB..

Loads of customisation options, free games, free magazine subscriptions, free in app purchases, stream and download tv shows/movies to your phone, download free albums and songs etc..... Run android features.... I lost my old 4s on ios6.0 jail broken and I'm now stuck with a 4s on iOS 7 waiting for a jailbreak and the phone is wank fair play without being jailbroke

Merlin is more clued up than me on it but as of today I don't think there is a jailbreak for iOS 7 but there is one not far off, and regarding iTunes you can still access it if needed although you can get most of the stuff on iTunes through cydia
